In case you didn’t know it, Battlefield 3 currently has a double XP event going on, doubling any points earned in any match. This is to celebrate the release of the upcoming Battlefield 4, which hits the stores (and Origin) on Tuesday, October 29.
The same rules apply as in previous double XP events: any points earned during the match, including award score, are doubled at the very end. The double XP events are great for players looking to unlock some extra items, as this speeds things up considerably. The double XP is available to all players, both Premium and non-premium.
This isn’t the last BF3 double XP event this time around. According to rumors, DICE and EA are planning another one shortly after the launch of BF4.
And don’t worry, after Battlefield 4 is released, Battlefield 3 will still be alive and going strong — there are thousands and thousands of players on every platform, and there will be for a long time it come. If you still haven’t tried BF3, you can still get great deals on Origin.
The GamesCom game event just kicked off in Germany, and to celebrate, DICE is running a double XP event during the week GamesCom is open. This means that double XP will be available to Battlefield 3 players from August 21-26 — for a total of 120 hours of double XP. The usual rules apply: the double XP only counts on ranked servers, and players will have their points doubled up after the end of each round. The new double XP event is taking place less than two weeks after the previous event, which took place on August 10.
DICE is currently present at GamesCom, where they are showing off Battlefield 4 and all of its features. DICE has a history with the GamesCom event — back in 2011, they used it to reveal almost all of the BF3 details, including the Caspian Border map. If you’re not at GamesCom, now is a great time to rake in some serious points in BF3, as this is one of the longest double XP events ever — at 120 hours, when it usually runs for only 48 hours.
Battlefield 3 is gearing up for another double XP weekend on August 10, starting at 2AM PDT (11AM CEST). As usual, any points earned at the end of each round during the weekend will be doubled. The double XP event is live for all platforms; PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
Good news for non-Premium members: this time, the double XP weekend is available for both Premium and non-Premium Battlefield 3 players. Note that double XP only counts on Ranked servers.
Because of the recent Battlefield 3 DDOS attacks, the double XP weekend was pushed to a new date. Today EA revealed the new date: May 23-27 — a full 96 hours of double XP.
The Double XP will work as usual, with player’s scores doubling at the end of each round. It’s a great way to quickly earn some new weapon and vehicle unlocks if you haven’t already unlock everything.
The double XP weekend is open to all Battlefield 3 players, not just Premium members.
DICE has announced that all Battlefield 3 players — Premium and non-Premium — will be getting a double XP event next month. While usually it’s just a double XP weekend, this time it runs from May 9 to 13, four days, or 96 hours of doubling up on all the points your earn in-game. The double XP will count only on Ranked servers and will include all game modes and all maps.
But it’s not like double XP matters any longer. Most of the players who are still playing have unlocked everything a long time ago
Battlefield 3 Premium members will get a full week of double XP this week. From November 12 to 18, a total of 144 hours of double XP will be available for those looking for quicker ways to rank up. Of course, this is limited to Premium members only. EA recently announced that Battlefield 3 Premium subscribers had surpassed 2 million. So there’s plenty of players out there for you to earn points against these days.
DICE has announced another Battlefield 3 double XP weekend on June 16-17. The event will be open to both Premium and non premium members, and all maps will be supported, including the recently released Close Quarters DLC. The Battlefield 3 double XP weekend will run from 00:01 AM PDT June 16th – 11:59 PM PDT June 17th. Points will be doubled just like last time — simply play on any ranked server and any points you have accumulated at the end of the round will be doubled up. Just in case you’re not aware of it: PC players had their Battlefield 3 double XP weekend pushed by a couple of weeks, but that time has already come: the double XP weekend is this weekend — May 26 & 27 — for PC players. The Double XP feature works simply by doubling the score you have accumulated during round, so if you have 500 points at the end of the round, you’ll get 1000 points this weekend. If you receive any points for ribbons, which you always do, these points will be doubled as well. And any points you score with a class will be doubled as well. However, it is uncertain whether this will count towards a player’s SPM (Score Per Minute) rating.
EA just announced the first ever double XP weekend for a Battlefield game: Battlefield 3 will be getting a double XP weekend from May 12 to 14, where all points scored will be doubled. The double XP weekeend starts at 12:01 AM PST tonight. Double XP weekends have been run by many games over the years, including for many Call of Duty and Halo titles. It’s essentially a way of boosting player numbers for a short period of time by offering incentives. The Battlefield 3 double XP weekend will be live on all platforms.
UPDATE: due to issues, the PC version of double XP weekend has been moved to May 26-27. Apparently, it wasn’t working at all and actually broke the game, where players weren’t receiving points for awards etc. Hopefully it’ll work in two weeks time.
