The tanks in Battlefield 3 will consist of the main battle tanks of each faction, one for the US side, and one for Russia. The respective thanks in Battlefield 3 are old favorites: the M1A2 Abrams for the US and the trusted T90 for Russians.

M1 Abrams

M1 Abrams
The M1 Abrams has been the US main battle tank since 1980, and is the main battle tank for the US side in Battlefield 3.

The T-90 is Russia’s main battle tank and has been since its official introduction in 1995. It is used across the world, from India to Saudi Arabia. The T90 is Russia’s main battle tank in Battlefield 3.

“The tanks in Battlefield 3 will consist of the main battle tanks of each faction. Since factions are still unknown, we don’t know for sure how many different tanks there will be.” -Excerpt From The Above statement

No, not necessarily. These are just the two MAIN tanks. There may be more than just that.

The tanks are not all heavy tanks, the M1A2 Abrams tank is a Heavy Tank, and the T-90 is Medium Tank, because the T-90 is upgraded version of a T-72 with the same hull design, and same turret design, but with some upgrades on it.

The tanks themselves get quite a few equipment options, so you can change them up quite drastically. It would be nice if those were appropriately listed.

If they are putting more tanks in the game they would need more factions like England, China or any other main country with a different mbt. It should be a future map pack with two completely new countries/factions including, tanks, light armor and helicopters.
Germany, Sweden and Israel all have powerfull new tanks they could use but America and Russia only have the two currently in the game.

Since the Armored Kill dlc has been comfirmed for a late summer – early fall release date, they could add the PLR or the Iranian Military to the multiplayer and their MBT’s can be the T-72 and the T-90. Whenever someone equipes a T-72 with reactive armor, it should actually upgrade the tank to a Type-72z, which is featured in the single player as a modern Iranian version of the T-54. The upgrade features reactive armor(of course), a new 105mm main cannon(the origional main gun was a 100mm), a new engine, new power supply, new internal systems(like maybe a diffrent gun sight or slightly faster rate of fire), and an actual shorter repair time when using the repair tool or maintenance.

Oops, I messed up. I meant to say that the PLR and the Iranian military can have the T-72 and the Type-72z on seperate maps or in diffrent stages of the map(like rush). The Type-72z is an extremely modernized T-54 with all of the features I mentioned above, and T-72′s that the PLR used in the Single Player are Monkey Editions that are basically standard T-72 Urals but with slightly downgraded systems from the Ural(but they also look like they have been Dubbed out with chrome). Maybe the T-90 on a map where the PLR and Iranian forces are facing the Americans and the French(I also haven’t mentioned that they could have the french in the Armored Kill DLC) and (the french can use the AMX-56 Lec-Lerc tank).

I hope that other than in BFBC2 the compass will work for the board gunner as well. Communicating directions is very hard in BFBC2. Now it’s all to often going down like this:

    Gunner: “Enemy tank!” …
    Driver: “Where” …
Gunner: Next to the wind turbine” …
Driver: “Which one? There a five wind turbines in front of me!” …
    Shell: “BOOM!” …
    Ex-Gunner:”Nevermind…” …

    Instead of:
    Gunner: “Enemy tank, North-East”
    Driver: “Got it!”

Or give the gunner the same symbolic cartoon that shows the direction of the tank relative to the turret like the driver has. That could be used for orienting in “bandit at six o’clock” style. Or add a marker to the HUD of both the Gunner and Driver that shows the direction of the other’s sights.

My personal opinion about stryker is mostly based on this:

Still I don’t know how many things were fixed since 2003. The main claim is extra high cost (for a transport vehicle) and no real advantages for this.

P.S. Low chances that an M1128 gun system will ever enter service (cause it doesn’t work (: ).

Sergey i looked at your link for a little bit and its almost all BS. Nothing against you this just shows what kind of misleading information on these kinds of vehicles there are out there. This may have been true while it was a prototype but majority of that were false problems, to name a few to not take up too much space on here: Engine runs fine, ammunition never jams, its computer based so its very smart, has armor gates added to reflect RPG rounds harmless, wheels are wonderful in any terrain and if one does inflate theres many exras and the vehicle doesnt skip a beat, also the military has a foam product that seals any punctures imediatly that it uses on all its gas tanks and are still working on (if havent finished it yet) a version for tires, weapons fire on move except big gun due to safety reasons.

Ok, Sandbag that tech issues were fixed. But the remaining problems are weight, cost and poor off-road performance. That means:
    1) Too heavy and bulky to be transported by C-130 in one piece (and even when some equipment is carried by another plane, it can be delivered no more then 1000 miles away)
    2) Due to additional armor (useless weight!) the whole system works on its limits. You can’t add something more for anti-RPG protection then armor gates (dynamic defense for ex.) because you risk to have some breakdown in a very inappropriate moment. You know that this metal cage is far not the best decision.
    3) It can’t be used off-road in most places in the world (all wheeled APCs meet this problem. But stryker is overweighted so it copes worse). It can’t swim.
    4) When something is produced in big numbers, it’s cost reduces. Still it is twice as expensive as modern version of BTR-80 for ex.

What can you say about these points?
I know that mr. O’Reilly wanted to show stryker as bad as possible so he used every small issue to push it, however some key problems are actual. And nothing phenomenal advantages as I see.
