what kinda sucks though is that if you unlock an accessory for one faction weapon, the equivalent weapon in the other doesn’t get it. just a cheap way to extend the game if you ask me, and what if you like a certain set-up? you’re gonna have to get evry accessory for the other faction weapon again? real annoying

      you must be new here?

they were faction specific weapons in BF2; BC2 have less weapons than the other games that’s why they give “freedom of choice”. Also you’re are going to play with all the weapons in the game not only “the good ones” or “the ones i can handle” if you think the opposite go create your class in black ops and the future MW2.5

How is that possible? Modern Warfare is aka Battlefield 2 Lite.

Battlefield came before CoD, and they have been chasing them the entire time.

Idiots and children prefer modern warfare. If you have a pair of balls and above the age of 15, you prefer a real game like Battlefield

i heard that console only allows 24 players per match and 64 for pc. will there be bots fighting with online players too? cause 24 players isnt really a war compared to huuge maps even if its compacted. an idea of a few bots in my opinion is a good suggestion… better post this now before its too late

The reason why console has only 24 players is because consoles can’t handle it, you can’t compare a 5-6 years old hardware to a plataform that is always progressing

thnx for the answer :) i agree with you. battlefield 3 is really intended for computers that are powerful enough to handle all the proccessing. unfortunately consoles arent powerful enough. but dice somehow managed to compact it all so it would be available to console platforms. the game mag for the playstation 3 however can support 256 players in one game and it’s just like battlefield. i wonder how.

For one, MAG sections its gameplay quite a bit, dividing up responsiblities and objectives so that it never really is 128v128 (or even 32v32) in the same combat scenario. Also, BF3 is a next gen game built for PC’s and DICE has done a ton to make a closely comparable game on the consoles. Before innovating and streaming data with the relatively tiny console memory alotment, they weren’t even able to render one soldier in Frostbite 2, much less 24 or 64!

          Yes they can do it but I will say this Homefront was a complete fail… and a lot of people returned it after first sales and just because they can support it dose not mean there will be 32 players online more like 16 now be cause Homefront was a fail. And IDK what MAG is and I’ve asked like 28 other peopel and neither did they so sounds like a waist of money to support something that wont have enough people;

Example: USMC might get a western weapon, most likely an M4 or something. Russia or PLR or w/e might get an eastern/warsaw pact weapon. Though, in BF2 you had unlock weapons that anyone can use. It’s likely that the starting weapons HERE are faction specific, and you can unlock them for all factions later on. Get what I’m saying?

No split screen so none of your friends can play on your console, everyone just gets to sit and watch. I’ve made it a habbit to rent before I buy any game except cod just for this reason.the game play takes a second just to get the hang of. No weapon upgrades until you’ve played for quite some time either. Wtf? COD FOREVER!

I wish DICE could’ve figured out a way to include more people per game on consoles…I mean they figured out a way to make Frostbite 2 work and still giving us the usual 12v12..but take MAG for instance. Decent graphics with huge teams ..sure Bf3 graphics will make it look like a bad 80s action flick, I still wish the brains at DICE could’ve managed it. I hope I’m wrong and they figured a way to always have some sort of action around. I mean I know I’m just a greedy console gamer, but I want full scale warfare. Worse comes to worse, I’m not opposed to buying it for PC and playing with my 360 controller ;-)

really not keen on the idea of faction based weapons hey.
    less fun i reckon.
played MOH multiplayer which was done by dice and i thought it was shit(not just because of faction based weapons) and went straight back to playing bc2.
i like the individuality of weapons on bc2 and by making some weapons have the same stats( which theyll have to do to make it fair and balanced for each faction) there losing some of the realism of the game and and it wont be as enjoyable or satisfying to master a certain weapon anymore. the game will probably lose some of the individual feel of certain guns if they have to make 2 different weapons the same for each faction. say want you want about the bad company games being worse than bf2 etc, but i think losing the choice to use a certain gun whatever side your playing on is a step backwards to be honest.

I find 12v12 battles on consoles fine, and in some cases more realistic, for warfare nowdays is no longer company vs. company like it was in WWII, Korea, or nam, it is now more squad oriented making a multiple squad engagement, such as 12v12 more real. Additionally less players makes the gameplay slightly less epic, but far more intense, for one is not shooting every second. There is a short respite and then the engagement continues challenging one to stay on guard.

I understand your complaint, and I half agree with you, but on console the maps are going to be scaled down a bit so that there is more action. The only problem with this is that manning one vehicle eliminates 1/4 of a team’s ground force. In conquest the player number should be slightly higher.

Saying they did this because the PC crowd were the only ones complaining is weak at best. We all deserve the same gaming experience. Please take time to reconsider this guys.

Honestly my only concern is the 4 man squad situation honestly we all have more than 3 friends and like to all play together sometimes even take up the whole team but we cant and even if a friend joins u cant hear them cuz they arent in ur squad i dont think this is a good idea because playing with friends is a big deal breaker when it comes to choosing what game to play.. Other than that Battlefield is known for not being very accurate when it comes to military reality on BBC2 they had US Marine ranking insignia’s and US Army ranking names (gunnery sergeant symbol; Sergeant first class worded rank) They’ll probably be incorrect on factions like last time i just think they need a little more research considering majority of squads even special ops squads are usually 6 men not 4.. i mean it gets a little silly when i see a marine with a US flag or insignia on his shoulder or chest Marines bare nothing its part of their belief that every Marine is a Rifleman and when doing someone as prestigious as Marines u gotta be extremely accurate because of their amazing history i know no one wants to hear it but Call of duty has been more militarily accurate and historically accurate. I cant wait for battlefield but ima preorder both cuz i wanna play BBC2 for the realism, the adenaline rush, and tactical gameplay and MW3 for the campaign, survival mode and arcade shooter gameplay

You clearly don’t know much about the Marines yourself. According to the Marines every Marine is a rifleman, according to the Army every soldier is an infantyman. If you ever enlist, you’ll know that when it comes down to it thats not reality.

In reality with the USMC: 0311 (rifleman) goes out on the patrols while the supplyman stay on base.
In reality with the US Army: 11B/11C (direct/indirect infantrymen) goes out on the patrols while the logistics men stay behind the wire (on base).

Saying every Marine is a rifleman is just a way to make POGs feel like they are tough.
