BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The MAV in Battlefield 3, also known as Micro Air Vehicle, is an unlockable gadget for the Recon class. The MAV is deployed and remotely controlled by the player, who can use the gadget to spot enemies. The player can earn special points for correctly spotting enemies for teammates. The MAV has no weapons or countermeasures, which make it vulnuerable to fire from enemies, especially those with anti air rockets like the Stinger missile.

actually its really useful it can really turn the game around if your playing rush and your a defender in a open are map spotting really helps ur teamates if they suck and ur raging at them 4 not defending the objective and getting mowed down cuz that dot really gives them the edge
you can get road kills with it.
you know, if you press the shoot button when you’re aimed at enemy equipment like T-UGS and Radio Beacons, it will destroy them and give you points, and you have unlimited tries. but if you look where you aim and shoot at nothing, it looks like you shot a bullet, but it doesn’t hurt anyone.

Hope they fixed the controll for this thing. The controlls were retarded in the beta…
yeah.. almost all of battlefields vehicle controls are jacked up.. i think the Helli’s should fly like desert strike.. and the jets should fly like ace combat..
You can kill people with it if you hit them while flying fast on the right spot. I don’t know if it was intentional or not, initial it just says I killed him. People call me a scrub for doing it lol
If you hit someone with them full speed, they will kill. I’ve gotten killed at least once, maybe a couple times. I avoid them or shoot them down if I can
The controls are fine. Fine tune them in the menus if you don’t like them. Everyone likes a different control scheme, don’t stick with the default.
I use this when I use my shotgun. I which it was more versitale than just spotting.
The reason I like battlefield is because it’s not easy especially the controls but, they make it so little kids can’t get on and play all day like call of duty. Just look at the positive side no fuckin eleven year olds to deal with.

MAV can destroy Enemy Equipment. I accidentally locked on an enemy Spawn Beacon and figured out that RT(xbox360) fires some sort of EMP bullet destroying the beacon. It has unlimited bullets but reloads a bit long like 10 seconds?
Not sure if it can also destroy TUGS, EOD, other MAV, etc.
Yeah it can destroy those equipment along with soflam
If you get the right angle and speed, you can run into enemies and kill them. Very effective, I’ve gotten the service star and dog tags from killing with it so much.
My brother has unlocked this (i hope to do so tonight when he is done playing) and has made it his mission to get roadkills with it. How many people do you need to kill with it before you get the Dog Tags? Also, do the spotting kills count towards this? Cheers!

You can’t put C4 on them, it doesn’t stick. You could in the beta but it was patched in the retail version.
I am not sure if destroying one counts as enemy equipment or a vehicle, as I am pretty sure I have had both. If anyone knows, please reply
You can gun them down, and you’ll get 20 pts for an equipment kill. While you’re running around trying to shoot them down, other people with guns inevitably show up to kill you. Dealing with 2 or 3 at a time is also a pain..
Its really funny if u just shoot those things down with heatseekers in a jet…. I kept tryin to use my MG and crashing into lamp posts!
the description is wrong, the MAV is equip with a weapon (x box atleast) that can be used to destroy equipment, i.e. remote spawns, mortars etc. however it has no effect on people (outside the lame fly kills)
also there is a glitch that allows a teammate to stand on it and jump off onto unexcessable areas (hopefully that gets fixed soon)

I think it would be cool if you could share the view of the MAV with your squad, so they get an overlay similar to the minimap where they can see the MAVs output.
Yeah man, this thing is essential, it’s like the commander’s view from past Battlefields since there’s no commander in BF3 tsk tsk this is an alternative and it’s got an “itty bitty EMP bullet” just like the Awesome Hell Bringing “EMP Strike” which the commander used to…..yeah………….WHERE ARE YOU COMMANDER!!!! Supplies!!!! UAV in my area!!!! AIR STRIKE!!!! SAT TRACK!!!! Vehicle Drop!!!! AAAAAAAAAAA, BF3 is about teamwork then suddenly you became Arcade like…, why DICE?
Today I saw someone who was a master at mav killing. He killed me 5 times with it and his dog tag said 725 mav kills.He was a colonel 10.

These MAV’s were a terrible idea allowing them to kill at high speeds. Three matches in a row these assholes used 5 or 6 MAV’s and kept divebombing everyone on the map. Even if you managed to shoot one down more would come or an enemy would decide to check out what they were all buzzing above and come knife you or gun you down while we were spinning in circles fighting the damned things off. I play Battlefield over COD because it is more realistic and the gameplay is better. The MAV’s however are changing the pros into mere silver lining.
I actually went 13–0 with one of these things ramming people in tdm. It’s kinda hard to learn, but once you get the hang of ramming and get a supply class to give you an ammo box… It is freaking awesome.
Then you get the supply guy to mortar with the radar and spotting you’re giving him.
I hope they get rid of the Mav kill. It’s not fun at all to be killed by one repeatedly for a whole match and the prick with re mav to get a free 16-0 kdr.

MAV roadkills are going nowhere, theres a dogtag that says how many youve gotten it is a intentional part of the game
