BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Battlefield 3 will feature 4 jets — a fighter for each side (US and Russia), and a fighter-bomber for each side as well. Many familiar jets will return, including the F/A 18 Super Hornet, and the Su-35.
F/A 18 Super Hornet
The F/A 18 Super Hornet is multi-role jet introduced in the US in 1983 and is capable of taking off from an aircraft carrier. The F/A 18 is one of the most widely used jets in the US military, and almost 1,500 have been built to date. The Super Hornet is the main US attack jet in Battlefield 3.
A10 Thunderbolt
The A10 Thunderbolt, nicknamed the “tank killer”, was first introduced in 1972 and is still in use today. The A10 was first featured in Battlefield 2 expansion pack “Armored Fury”, and will return in Battlefield 3 as the main fighter-bomber for the US forces.
Sukhoi Su-35
The Su-35 is the next generation fighter jet for the Russian Army, and so far, only two dozen aircraft have been built. The fighter jet is a long rage, multipurpose jet capable of air and ground attacks, and is the main attack jet for the Russian side in Battlefield 3.
Sukhoi Su-39
The Sukhoi Su-39 is modernized version of the Su-25, which was introduced in the early 1980s. The Su-39 is the main fighter-bomber for the Russian forces in Battlefield 3.
F35
The F35B is a short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL) jet that can land vertically, and is available in Battlefield 3 as part of the Back To Karkand expansion pack.

Yeah a two seater would be nice, Bombing is hard so to make it easier the passnger targets land vehicles, Once its targeted it tells the pilot when to drop it so you get like 50 points for targeting and another 50 for the pilot killing, Also missles that could be launhed by the passenger. What would be really boss to though is if instead of just jumping out you should eject from eject seats giving snipers a chance to pick ya off and for a cool animation and an addicting thing to do.

No it isn’t. The Blue Angels use an F/A-18A Hornet, and the #7 Jet is an F/A-18B Hornet. They don’t use the Super Hornet.

I completely agree. The F-22 is going to be one of the best fighters in history next to the F-35. The F-14 was good in all but it was way to big and slow to actually do any damage. Yea, I understand it can fly through a hurricane but still, the F-14 wouldn’t be able to keep up with either the F-35 and the F-22.

yes maps are smallest on xbox and biggest on pc and in between on ps3 this is because of the size of the hard-drives for an example gta4 the size of the map on ps3 is 3 times bigger cos it has a bigger hard-drive

If Conquest is anything like it was in BFBC2, then it’s going to have smaller maps than Rush because of all the satellite stations that you have to destroy…

i read something on the battlefield 3 wiki page that said the land area would be smaller on consoles but air space will remain the same on all platforms.
They have now been comfirmed for consols, but only in conquest.

The J-20 is a piece of crap compared to the F-22. Cheap chinese copy of it. So if there was an F-22 in the game, it would destroy all the other player’s jets before they can spawn LOL. Russian planes are horrible too.

Actually, the F-22 is far superior to those because that is basically copied from the F-22. The Russians aren’t unique enough to make something of there own design. Though something I would like to see back is the F-35, and I REALLY wish they put bombers in, like say B-52, B-2, (And of course the russian copies of those >.>)

True, but I’ve seen video footage of Australian F-22′s being out maneuvered by Mig 29/35′s in a military exercise. The Raptor has superior weapons and a stealth system, but the 29/35 can outmaneuver it once it’s spotted. I guess that would fix the balance issue. Plus, you can make like 3 or 4 Migs for the price of a single Raptor!
Actually it is impossible that an Australian F-22 was being outperformed by ANY mig-fighter. A.) The f-22 has the greatest thrust vectoring of any production plane B.) There is NOBODY WITH an f-22 other than U.S…. If it had one engine, it was probably an f-35. Lastly, The mig is a gen 3.5 or 4… tops. Now if you said a SU34 Terminator COMPETED with it, then I would concur… even so… the F-22 took out 15 Block 60 F-16s at RedFlag which is the “most combat capable jet there is…” this statement coming from a Navy F-18 pilot i talked to… as I was under his f-18 wing shielding me from the rain getting ready for an airshow…

The F22 is certainly not “The best fighter in the world” The most expensive? Maybe. The best? No.
F22′s have had a pretty unsuccessful run when it comes to combat trials. Eurofighter Typhoons and Dassault Rafale fighters have given the F22 a serious beating when it comes to A2A-A2G. Dont beleive me? Google Typhoon vs F22 china lake.
I’ve also read complaints from former raptor pilots complaining about the “stealth” for two reasons. One it doesnt work, Two because the so called radar absorbing paint that has been slapped on corrodes the jet even when it is sat on the runway.A 2 hour flight costs 30 hours of maintainance. Give us an F-15. Screw the F-22

I love hearing people talk about how much they think they know regarding a top secret jet… the clearance needed to know the details is pretty high. for pc sure. but on 24 player console that would remove alot of players from the action. However a C-130 wouldn’t be too bad. Roll a tank or a humvee in it and drop it right at the ememies stronghold. It will take skill to do this so i think it is fair.
The AC-130 flies at a maximum 320 mph in the air. Cruising speed is 215. It is almost 2.5 times faster than a Hummer or ATV driving at max, at cruising speeds. It is slow for a plane, but if you haven’t noticed… planes are really fast. Oh and that outburst about “the AC-130 always relates to CoD?!” Well, in your case it does because everyone who knows about the Spectre, and isn’t in the military, most likely saw it from MW2. The only time it is talked about is when it is related to CoD. You know that’s where you’re referencing it from.
P.S.- The AC-130 is only used by the USAF SOCOM, and is usually only used for the SEALs close air support at night, and special ops air strike missions at night.

Actually annihlator, the F/A-18D(E Occasionally) is the main carrier aircraft of the Navy. The F-35 is still in development, though they put it in Battlefield 2 just to give other countries something to worry about, because it does exist, it’s just a matter of time before we use it in combat.

We need the Harrier jump jet with VTOL, cannons & rockets. Awesome playing this in BF2 Falklands mod. A hard hitting plane balanced by being easy to shoot down with groundfire. Cool hovering and gunning enemy to little bits. F22 navy modern version.
There is Harriers used by the USMC, but the F-35 will take over because of it’s stealth abilities. The Harriers are getting to be a little out of date.

If they do use UAV they better have like a certain radious that it can spot when it flies over a certain area of the map. After all I don’t want like being seen on the map from everyone when I’m sniping or in buildings.

If you played Battlefield 2, you’ll know there is absolutely no room on an airfield for a AC or C-130 aircraft. That is why they stick to fighters and fighter/bombers.
i know this is not even remotely possible since it has never been available in any game. but…… how about bombers?……. one of those flying fortresses. they have about 3 or 4 guns mounted on them, i think one of them is anti aircraft, the other ones are anti tank and infantry weapons. it was featured in CoD modern warfare, in one level you provide support for your team to help them get out of russia. wouldn’t be a bad thing huh?…. no artillery support, a bomber would be a new dimension. a challenge for the supremacy of the jet fighter.

Actually the AC is a variant of the C-130 and there are two different kind. The Spectre and the Spooky.
What was it Battlefield 1941 or 42 had a B-17 it had 9 player spots and you could bomb the crap out of almost everything!

Im an infantry guy so im not pissing my pants about the jets. some basic facts, this games about Marines, Harriers are the BIGGEST P.O.S. aircraft our military has ever put out. Harriers are to be replaced with the JSF, Joint Strike Fighter, and if this games in 2014 theyll have JSF’s and not Harriers. If your wondering whats so wrong with Harriers look at their history or performance and enginuity issues. F16 FTW

WTF? the F-22 doesn’t have a tail hook. It’s strictly an Air Force fighter jet. Even if it did have a tail hook, the landing gear would be too weak to handle the hard landings, and it’s lower than the aircraft on the carriers. So if it did land then it would scrape the deck damaging the bottom of the fuesalage and breaking the landing gear panels. So the F-22 doesn’t have a tail hook.

Yeah the F-22 is flown by the USAF only and subsequently will never land on a Navy carrier. Plus it’s really expensive and costly to produce and operate the F-22 as well as the F-15, F-16 and F-18. That is why they developed the F-35: one plane 3 variants for the USAF, USN and USMC. That way they only have to manufacture parts for one plane and if one breaks they can scavenge parts from it and use them to fix another. Not to mention the stealth and other technological improvements.

If you add the F-117, what would be able to shoot it down, it’s not like anything can lock onto it, it’s a stealth aircraft and there has never been any shot down, only crashes/accidents involving them.
A 30mm doesn’t have to lock on. If you see it you can shoot it.
Marko said so because the serbs shot down a nighthawk circa 97′ or 98′. Also, the f117 is getting phased out for a ton of reasons…. the shape and radar absorbent paint are what gives the fighter (yes it’s classified as a fighter), it’s stealth capability. Lastly, the chinese and russians came hunting and paying for the jet when it crashed… they also allegedly reverse engineered the JHMCS Helmet.
It would be fun to see the “JAS-39 Gripen” in a game like this.

There were Eurofighters in BF2 (Euro Force) not Gripens. But I’m from Czech Rep. and I’d be glad to see Gripens in the game =) unfortunately, it can’t by compared with super-modern jets above…
