Battlefield 3′s first DLC, Battlefield 3: Back To Karkand, will be included free of charge for those who pre-order Battlefield 3. The Back To Karkand DLC includes maps, vehicles and weapons from Battlefield 2, remade for Battlefield 3. For those who do not pre-order Battlefield 3, the Back To Karkand DLC will be available for purchase at $15.

$125 Million less than MW3 with 2 extra days.
Don’t get me wrong, I love both games and have played both of them equally but it’s not correct to say that MW3 “can’t touch” BF3.
You need to be careful with those EA statements. BF3 shipped 10mil to retailers, it didn’t sell 10mil to consumers, it sold 5mil in 7 days compared to MW3s 9.6mil in one. Obviously EA felt pressured so they released a deliberately misleading statement.
Regardless, 5mil in a week is still a lot of units shifted.

I asked Direct2Drive the same exact question. Only if you get the “Limited edition” sold by EA and certain retailers, you’ll get the Back to Karkand thingy. Otherwise, if it isn’t the Limited edition you don’t get it.
I bought the pre-order game from Game-spot today, but the receipt just said the game. Even though I pre-order it from Game-Stop I still have to go back and buy the limited edition one?
I preordered it from gamestop too. Check your receipt to see if there is an “LE” after it says battlefield 3.

Will Back to Karkand a map pack or expansion? Meaning: will the maps be put into the standard rotation, or will you be forcing clans to get new servers like you did for BC2:Vietnam to play them?
I hope the answer is it is it is a map pack.
it is both it adds maps and guns and gun mods but you do not have to be in a seperate server list just to play the maps they will just be added in and you select whether or not you want to play them.:)
WTH?! You didn’t need new servers for vietnam! You will just change the gamemode that is running currently. I think we won’t need to do that in BF3, thats why they didn’t put it on steam because of DLC’s

BC2 did not even have VOIP… neither does BF3 for that matter, so… as far as I’m concerned, 2142 is the last game worth playing, unless the flags get spread out, we get more playable area on EXISTING maps (I’m not going to pay $90 for 4 maps), and VOIP with auto channel management gets fixed.

I think that both of them are going to be great game. I hate seeing people speak poorly of either games simply because they prefer a series. In the end, I’m going to be spending a lot of time on both. Plus, no one really knows which will be better until they come out. Also people have their preferences on if they like slower, tactical gameplay of BF or faster, arcade style fps like COD.
MW3 won’t be great game! Why? Simple : same engine, same weapon sounds, same voice sounds, same graphics, same tiny maps, same douche bags, same screaming kids = modern warfare douchery
Also they fired the entire dev team that did MW and MW2, so…. yeah
BTF 3 is amazing and nobody can say otherwise, the only difference between COD is modern warfare 2 was such a hit it grew a bigger fan base, that is the only reason it will be more popular.

I believe you will get all of those weapons when you pre-order, it’s probably what is meant when it says “exclusive weapon” for the T-88, silencer and fletchette. as for the DAO-12 shotgun, I’m not sure what it means as “Day 1 Access”. maybe LE players get it free but others can buy it as a DLC on day 1. Idunno.

The DAO-12 is available to every one but the LE players unlock it day one every one else gets it around level 30 or 40 i think. The ammo, type-88, and flash suppressor for the sks are all exclusive meaning you only get it if you have the PW pack
No bob, it actually means that it’s a free unlockable that comes with the game, you just unlock it straight away.
I think those weapons are only for people in your town.

You only can see the operation metro map because the multiplayer mode its still in alpha version they don’t to test maps they want to test functionality.

Okay, I preordered BF3, with pride, from game stop about two months ago. Now I just said “put it down on BF3.” So, does this mean thar I will be getting the DLC? theyres no way in hell I will be missing these maps as it will take me back to when I was 10 years old playing this game. I need them, and I need to know if I should switch it up, help?
