APCs — Armored Personnel Carrier –, or IFV, short for “Infantry Fighting Vehicle”, have been in all Battlefield games since Battlefield 2, and usually seat 4-6 soldiers. Battlefield 3 will featured one main APC per side: the LAV-25 for the US forces, and the BMP-2 for the Russian side. On top of that, there is one anti-air APC per faction in Battlefield 3 as well.

LAV-25

Battlefield 3 LAV-25
The LAV 25 is an eight-wheel APC introduced in 1983 for the US Army as an armored transport vehicle capable of transporting 9 soldiers, 3 crew and 6 passengers. The LAV-25 is the main infantry fighting vehicle for the US faction in Battlefield 3.

BMP-2

Battlefield 3 BMP 2
The BMP-2 is the main armored personnel carrier for the Russian Forces, and seats up to seven passengers. The BMP-2 is the main APC/infantry fighting vehicle for the Russians in Battlefield 3.

9K22 Tunguska

BF3 tunguska
The 9K22 Tunguska is a Russian made anti-air vehicle that serves as the mobile AA for the Russian side in Battlefield 3. The Tunguska has dual 30mm anti-air canon plus surface to air missiles.

LAV-AD

Battlefield 3 LAV 25 AD
The LAV 25 AD — Air Defense — is the anti air version of the LAV 25, and serves as the mobile AA for the US side in Battlefield 3. It operates in much the same way as the regular LAV 25, but will be equipped with anti-air missiles and a Gatling gun.

BTR-90

Battlefield 3 BTR-90
The BTR-90 is a Russian APC that seats 6 soldiers and has a powerful 30mm auto-canon, plus several other armaments. The BTR-90 is available in the Back To Karkand expansion pack.

Bradley Fighting Vehicle

Bradly Fighting Vehicle
The Bradley Fighting Vehicle, also known as M3A3, is an APC with a 30mm main gun and a secondary .50 caliber machine gun. It seats 6 soldiers: 4 passengers in addition to the driver and gunner. UPDATE: the Bradley won’t be featured in Battlefield 3, it is replaced by the LAV 25.

BMD-3

BMD-3
The Russian made BMD-3, also known as an “infantry fighting vehicle”, is widely used across Russia and countries like India and Pakistan. UPDATE: The BMD-3 won’t be featured in Battlefield 3, it is replaced by the BPM-2.

BMD-3 can’t be an APC it doesn’t have a bay-door for troops to come in and out of. I would say it’s just a tank. But that’s my opinion.

Its not really an APC its more of an infantry support vehicle it falls under the APC category because of it’s light armory and it doesn’t fire big HE rounds like a tank. It actually carries troops but its only two infantry.

The BMD is a Russian Airborne (air droppable) recce IFV.
It’s for Warsaw Pact tactics, “recce by force”.
It’s fast, mobile, and fight its way in or out of a situation.
It’s an IFV class. I’m ex Intel and have studied this for 2 decades.
I’ve stood atop of destroyed ones in an Afghan graveyard in Kandahar.
Nice to have seen a real one.

4 APCs. But it’s un-even since the U.S. side gets fast and clumsy LAVs, while the russians get sluggish, acute angle turning tanks. They both have their virtues, but that puts the fight in terms of situation and not in that of the driver, making the victor not actually a victor.

The M3A3 has a 25MM gun that fires 202 rounds a min. amd its not a 50. thats mounted on the top its a 240C 7.62mm… it also seats 6 in the rear and has 2 in the turret and 1 driver.

You are correct about 25mm gun, but M240C is co-axial with the main gun. I have never seen a Bradley with a machine gun on top.

M3A3 has only 2 passenger seats in the back (you can probably squeeze 6 people in, but I wouldn’t advise it). M2′s, which are infantry Bradleys, have either 6 or 7 seats, depending on version

the lav25 is gonna be awesome! if it really caries 6 passengers it will be awesome at rushing the enemy base or will give a lot of points to ppl who will kill it with full passengers

incidentally, bradley is not an APC technically and an IFV just like BMP-2, in fact in that entire list there isn’t any APC at all, even LAV-25 is actually an armed recon vehicle… not an APC though by virtue of it’s task it has space for 4 scouts.
