BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
not that expensive.. i’m going to buy all dlcs anyway so i’m in
wow. I read the 20 maps, 10 vehicles, and 20 weapons and thought “cool I should get this” and then it said combining expansion packs and realized that it is just ea trying to fool us again. btw, it isnt specific about camos so i assume ea only gave us 1 or 2. i am definatly waiting to hear feedback before buying anything from them. well, back to skyrim
if they included some kind of armor that resists claymores, m26 mass, and m320 then i would totally buy this
still, 50 dollars for 4 dlc (excluded B2K) is a good deal :3
It isn’t such a great deal for The Netherlands. You can get Close Quarters en Karkand for €12,95 each. 12,95 x 4 = 51,80 euro. So you save yourself an astonishing €1,80!!! Chances are high that by the time the last DLC comes out many don’t even play BF3 anymore.
Getting this would be cheaper in the long run if you plan on getting all the dlc’s… But I see it says “stats reset feature” so does this mean it will reset all my stats or it gives me the option to reset my stats if I want to?
FYI you save $25 off of all the dlc if you get this… Well in canada any way
@HendrikIzaak
You forgot to take note of euro’s being worth more than US dollars
50$ = 39.5 EUR
so it is still a good deal..
flak?
techinically, its including
EA isnt trying to fool anyone. Their document is perfectly clear that the “20 maps” etc is a combination of the DLC.
It is the blog poster that cant write properly who said “in addition to the dlc you get…..20 maps etc”
all there dlc is going to be AT LEAST 15 bucks. thats 60 rite there just for the maps. and even the other little shit u get so ur all ready saving money
Soldier camos are probably one of the easiest things for the art guys to make. They’ve probably got the basic texture on file they can pull up and just overlay a different camo patern on certain parts. I’ll bet they could do every camo America or Russia has ever used in a day or two.
The image also says ’10+’ so it definitely won’t be just one or 2.
Yeh a few new skins would be nice instead.
Dunno about this, I might not be playing BF3 right up to the last DLC.
it says “+10 unique soldier camo’s”
r u stupid it says 10+ unique cammos
the weapons and stuff are separate from the ones your getting from the dlc’s. I’m getting it because i’l have more maps. This must be why it’s taking them so long to patch the game
lol you cant read for shit
That is the stupidest comment I’ve read here. And Skyrim and MW3 are both terrible games.
I have Premium and I have everything included in what they mentioned here. You’re full of shit.
I’m actually really curious to who’s going to be doing the weapon and strategy guides?…
*British accent* “Hello this is XboxAhoy and today we will be looking at the weapons of Battlefield 3″
O_O Mind officially blown.
And if I buy this, I have to cancel my Medal Of Honor Warfighter. Still not sure what I am gonna do since I don’t want to spend hundreads of dollars in video games.
I wonder if this bf3 premium thingie will be delivered via download…if so, PSN users will be able to share their download with 1 more person, right?
People like you are the reason why EA is still greedy and lame.
No one should buy this rip-off, remember back when expansions were kick ass with a lotta new stuff and not just a couple of maps (e.g: BC2 Vietnam)? I miss that.
So call of duty elite, oh sorry i meant battlefield premium will give us some dog tags, exclusive knife re-skin, 20 maps and 2 weeks early DLC for only 50 dollars ? That’s so nice ! oh wait it’s from EA then never mind this will never be true.
yea 20 maps -4 since im sure you have back to karkand. that leaves the 4 maps in every pack so its really not 20 plus the dlcs its the 20 included in the dlcs
you know what really sucks about this is that it affects non premium users. 2 weeks early for dlc is not a perk, its something everyone would have had if premium was never made. We would all get dlc on release for free if there was no premium. And worse than that now our queue priority is all messed up because of premium, i would have regular priority but now DICE decides whos important. Thats bullshit. The server owners should decide que priority. Im sorry but dice i hope the worst for you as a company, and i will never buy any shit you guys decide to make.
Dude its not DICE doing this. Its ea completely. DICE did not have much input to much of battlefield 3 with ea having their hands tied. Hopefully they sever ties ea, as they suck.
can’t you read? it says “in addition to”. that means, it’s separate.
i would maybe change the second list to not say “in addition to the dlc” to something like “the dlc includes”. Because the way it reads now it sounds like premium includes 5 dlc packs AND 20 maps, 20 guns, etc. etc. Just a suggestion though
Agree +
Just another way to take our money. At this point BC2 seems like a better idea..
Do you need a band aid you cry baby?
No duh its another way to get money, they are a company!!! Get it through your head. If they are doing this its probably because gullable idiots will buy it! It really more of the fault of how much consumers are willing to bend over to get more game.
Besides, you dont even have to buy it in this way! but keep whining anyway
I’m not a so called “gullible idiot” who buys this just to have it. I have 300+ hours clocked in this mofo. It is a brilliant game with some issues, and i support DICE. BUT!!! after the last DLC they MUST release the dev. tools to modders! Peace out!
300 hours? 300? what the hell?
Any specifications in how many weapon camos there are. To me this sounds like a great deal, but to be sure in purchasing it, I need more details.
I don’t understand why people complain. The world revolves around money! They’re not trying to please you to your heart’s extent, they’re trying to make money! They’re not even making you buy it, it’s optional. I swear, some people complain just for the sake of complaining. It’s sad.
People are complaining because the Game is broken, and its Publisher and Developers are focusing on pumping out retarded DLCs and Services instead of fixing it.
Next Patch will probably come with Close Quarters, which fortunately means it’ll probably be much sooner than the last Patch (as CQ is rumoured to also be launching on June 4th, meaning alongside Battlefield Premium), but even if they do fix the DART Gun, I’ll be looking out for whatever Noob Weapon they manage to create next, because apparently that’s just what they do these days to keep the retards interested.
Battlefield Premium is hilarious however. Close Quarters is a result of Operation Metro being so “popular”, so what will they say next time? “Close Quarters sold so well, WE JUST HAD TO MAKE MORE?” Of course it sold fucking well, people just bought the Bundle Pack and said “meh, I’ll skip that one. Its worth it for the rest of them.”
This newly revealed DLC, Aftermath is interesting. Makes 2 DLCs we have no idea what they’re about now. Titling them “End Game” and “Aftermath” just makes me wonder even more if they’re just Single-Player additions however.
I wonder if EA will be providing a Discount for those who already own BtK? Or wait, no. That would be unfair to the others who have to pay full price right? Which is why we should pay for it twice…. Yeah, right.
Nailed it again Implied..
Dunno what you mean broken, works fine for me. every time i get kills or get killed it’s fair and square. been able to take down people armed with “OP” weapons, and got taken down while equipped with those weapons. Sure the MASS is not working as intended but that far from making the whole game broken.
Last Patch was a lot better than the ones before it. We finally got Commo Rose 2.0, a USAS fix, etc. Unfortunately, when they manage to break one Noob Weapon just to create another one, the value of the Patch just decreases by a lot.
Its much better off than it was at Launch, sure, but it still needs a lot of work, some of it to issues which will never be addressed.
Yep, I’m the Big Bad Hater. Watch me go back to BF2 and hate. Oh wait. /Eyerolling. Mindless Consumer will consume, providing EA with even more unnecessary belief that they can get away with anything.
I Agree.
Haters gonna hate. Always.
Implied, you get all the props for your most insightful comments. I waited for months with great anticipation for ‘close quarters’. But nothing could have been so anticlimatic after a 20 minute download, than to have seen that $50 price tag glaring back at me. I honestly thought it was a joke, that it was just a mere illusion. A sensibly priced upgrade of this magnitude would run about half of the retail purchase price (got mine pre-release/midnight).
The idea of paying “another” $50 after braving the crowds to get a pre-released copy was not only unthinkable, but absolutely insulting. The world can agree that capitalism drives just about everything. But this is overkill, and just plain greed. If someone bought the game out of the bargain bin, the premium option would be a no brainer. But even the most die hard fan who bought the game opening night, is going to think twice before investing over $100 into a fricken game.
I’m very disappointed that Dice has chosen to follow this business model, for what otherwise has been a relatively successful franchise to its loyal fan base which is now being exploited. Had a more reasonable price point been arrived at, I might not be so inclined to look elsewhere, and avoid any future releases from Dice.
Tell me about it. they offer you a Discount on there DLC and people complain. its truly outstanding.
to everyone who doesn’t like the way EA is treating you i am going to attempt to explain how this world works. Gaming is a business, Europe and the US practice a free market. in a free market if you don’t like what your getting for the price, you switch to a different supplier. your options are limitless, if you don’t like BF3, then go play Call of Duty, if you don’t like that you better switch to Arma 2, if you don’t like that i would suggest getting into RTS games because those are the only FPS worth spending money on. i would also like to tell you about all the new Free to Play games, Blacklight retribution, and tribes ascend, 2 great games that you can play for free.
your complaining does nothing for you, not buying there Products will. hope i shed some light on the issues.
The thing I’m complaining about is that I have ALREADY paid for this.
Its like an ice cream company selling you an ice cream cone for 99p.
Only you have to pay an extra 99p for the ice cream.
That’s not really a good analogy. Here’s a better one:
You buy a new Ford Fiesta. While it does lack some features, it drives great and gets you from ‘point A’ to ‘point B.’
Six months after you buy the car, Ford announces they’re coming out with a package deal to upgrade your Fiesta with some of the features it lacked originally. The package is cheaper than you buying all of the features seperately.
“WHAT THE FUCK,” you angrily shout. “FORD SHOULD GIVE ME THESE FEATURES FOR FREE! I was content with my purchase for SIX MONTHS but the idea that they would ASK FOR MONEY to install EXTRA ADD-ON CRAP?! THAT’S FUCKING INSANE AND I AM VERY MAD ABOUT IT!”
Funny, I ha a similar situation with my Bike a couple of years ago. Upgrades were cheaper in a bundle pack or something like that.
Just so I get this right, the problem here is that we’re paying for Post-Launch DLC? That’s nothing new…..?
For me, that’s not even the point. Ford will do First Come, First Serve. They don’t have some sort of Premium Driver System where you Subscribe to have Early Access to the latest stuff and/or get added to the front of the Queue or something if you pay extra.
Bundle Packs aren’t all that uncommon. Rockstar has Rockstar “Season” Passes which are usually around 30$ for all Game DLC, Epic Games had Season Passes for Gears of War, etc. I’m very pro those, since they’re usually cheaper than buying it all independently. Even though it means they get your money up front no matter what the DLCs actually contain, so you never know if they’re 100% worth it (Close Quarters). Paying for Post-Launch content is nothing new. Not to Battlefield, not to anything (Overpricing it on the other hand is a different matter but another discussion).
I’m pretty sure you know what extra-addons you’re gonna get with your discounted upgrade package.
so no, that’s not a good analogy.
a good analogy would be:
Ford is giving an upgrade package which consists of a new engine and interior design, but you need to pay 4 grand for it.
but, will it be better than the previous?
Not really dude. In your analogy, the car ford sold you is not actually the car they said they would sell you and the only way to get from point A to point B is in reverse, because all the forward gears are broken.
You two should also read YouAreTheOneNeo’s Post down lower, where he/she outlines exactly why EA is going to get butchered because of this, regardless of whether or not its “optional”. When done right, “optional” is just an empty word. WoW has introduced ridiculously overpowered Zone Buffs in two of its Raids, both times there’s been an option to turn them off. Problem is, no sane Progressing Guild would possibly do so, because it would hamper their progression. “Optional” becomes an illusion supported by morons who just repeatedly say “well, you can just turn it off” because they’re too stupid to realize why you really, actually can’t. This isn’t optional. You have the option to either be a second rate, or you have the option to be a First Rate Premium User, of course, at a cost. That’s just plain and simple milking.
I can stand the Early Access (they need some sort of incentive beyond cosmetics)/Stats Wiping, I also DGAF about XP Weekends anymore, but Queue Priority? LOL – Not Premium? Oh, well, you’re not as important as other people. Go to the back of the Queue. Yeah, good luck with that EA. I’ll just sit back and watch the show.
Also, since someone asked, no, I doubt this stacks with the PS3 one-week early thing. Its probably like this: 2 Weeks Pre-Launch: BF Premium Users get in. 1 Week Pre-launch: PS3 Users get in. Launch: Everyone else.
Okay, so after reading a lot of what everyone had to say about this here is my honest opinion.
What the hell?
There is a lot of BS in this that doesn’t need to be there.
They had me when I could get all the DLCs, camos, dog tags and some other things.
“Two weeks early access to DLC” Why? I mean five, four days would be better. Keep the PS3 at a week have everyone else just wait a little less longer. Heck I wouldn’t even mind it not being there at all.
“Exclusive double XP weekends” *sigh* really? Give it to us all! Hell make it every other weekend, maybe even three, once a year at most. Even, shockingly NOT AT ALL! Once you reach Colonel it doesn’t really matter.
“Exclusive videos and strategy guides” *sigh* even this. Just doesn’t even. Its battlefield. Battlefield! You make up your strategies as you go along! As the battle changes you must change. But, it does add a little spice to the list, even though it will be worthless.
“Stats reset feature” well, I got to say at times I wouldn’t mind it. If only it didn’t reset my whole thing. Just my rank and weapons. I sometimes want to start over, but just for the fun of it you know?
And then there is the Queue priority. Just W.T.F. what ever happened to being VIP of a server or an admin. Why must this thing be in there?
There is so much about the Premium that could make it more then worth my $50! I like that I get a discount, (even though I already bought the B2K) some skins for both my character and guns, and a unique in-game knife. I love BF3 even though its not a true sequel to BF2. But the little crap they keep pulling is getting in the way of me enjoying what little I have for this game.
Use the internet, and those things strapped to the side of you head called “EARS!” People will buy MORE of the good and LESS of the bad when you do it right. Battlefield is in the less zone. Pardon me, but F**K ever thing else. If you had let DICE take the time to test and refine the game a little longer you would have sold even more then what you had right now. If you just listened to the community you would make more.
Your trying to milk a dieing cow here and your squeezing out the last few drops. When there is no milk left, kiss Battlefield good buy.
15millon copies right? that’s half the total population of my country
If they just provided Early Access + Bundle Pack DLC, it wouldn’t really be any real competition to CoD Elite, so they added Video Strategy Guides etc.
Then EA did the EA thing, and sent it to hell with Queue Priority, Stats resetting and (Exclusive) Double-XP Weekends.
@Implied
Yes, but they didn’t need to add them in.
I wouldn’t care if it was a rip off of CoD Elite, so long as they keep it worthy of buying I would get it. The strategy guide, its a worthy add on. Stat reset, to a point is worthy. (Just reset rank and weapons)
Even the two weeks early access can be worthy. Even if they made it a week they wouldn’t be hurting the PS3 with its week early access.
The Premium need to me worthy of $50 but doesn’t need any extra bull.
When they had the DLCs with camos that already was worth of my money. I Know I’m repeating myself but the point should be blunt. There is no need for this extra bull. Give me the DLCs, camos, and Unique items and cut the rest out.
‘Server queue priority’. EA is so greedy its disgusting. This is not a free to play game, its a game at the price of a luxury good. To have to pay extra to be on the SAME LEVEL as other premium players in server queues is a sleasy tactic. Meanwhile there are still bugs and overpowered suppression. EA is milking this once great franchise to the ground
lest we not forget that instead of giving reserved slots to the server operators to make money, we’re paying EA directly for it… which fucks over the server operators.
The que priority is a fucking pisstake, EA ought to be ashamed. Bf3 wasn’t sold on the basis if you don’t upgrade you’ll sit at the back of the que to join a game
Its wrong on every level
It’s also disrespectful to the people who rent and admin their servers and pay to do so.
But let’s face it, grEAdy basically stuck the bird up at anyone running a PC server already with close combat
Any PC server running a 24,32,40,48 and 64 players can’t even run it, so they won’t see any DLC at all untill seltember
But the pc is the main platform …
They really are spoiling the franchise with fucking greed
15 million copies alone dictates there’s no need to be that greedy.
3quid dog tags some skins, a knife… all crap that should be in patches
This really was the last game I think I’ll buy from EA now, they seem to swallow up small companies that are excelling and just fucking ruin them and their franchises for the gaming community
Westwood for example, now the Command and Conquer franchise is a fucking sad joke, the last offering was pathetic with c&c4
Dice has had the same treatment, swallowed up and now they just fucking mindless puppets, it isn’t Dice anymore and it isn’t true Battlefiled either now sadly.
Bf3 is still a reasonable game but with the inclusion of Origin, which is just fucking annoying spam adverts really, again nothing to do with a Battlefield game, just there too make more money.
Just shows you how two guys can set up a company with integrity and delivering value
And end up greedy wankers frankly
Surely that is the nature of capitalism. A firm moves into a market, and produces until there is no more profit, then moves on. EA moved from Westwood, to Dice; as you stated. They will move onto other, and people will buy it, then they move on to others.
I wonder, since B2K is included, the 20 maps implies we only get 10 new weapons and 16 new maps?
And the other 10 weapons are in close quarters, so does that mean after close quarters, there are no new weapons?;(
It says 20 maps, 20 NEW weapons
as long as they are some huge ass maps
how many euros is that?
I’m def buying this and i will save money with it!
im such derp. I coudn’t read it from pic
50 Euro (its at the bottom of the picture). Hah! EA is doing the Activision thing now, abusing Straight Conversion. What next? New Battlefield Game going to cost 60 Euros too? >.> What a ripoff.
Smart consumer advice of the day: know what you’re paying for.
EA are just using your misinformation for their gain, and that, my friend, is the recipe for good marketing.
i wont pay for that!!!!
Fix the damn problems you only think of money
And then you’re gonna pay anyway……
there are also smart people that won’t buy everything EA throws at their faces.
mind=blow right?
They’re realising another patch the day Premium comes out. Do some reasearch before you complain.
Im sick of all the complainers. They are selling you something that gives you the DLCs cheaper (not to mention a boat load of other stuff). WHY must there be complaining?! Be happy with the game you bought, otherwise dont ruin others’ expierience and return it. All games come with bugs, EVERY single one of them. DICE and EA are selling you stuff, and they are also patching the game. Be happy.
i will buy this coz it works out cheaper
Awesome! Can’t wait for this. Don’t have to buy it, fellas. So why are you saying they’re ripping you off?
As soon as I see a working patch EA can have my $. Till then ill keep my $. FIX THE DAMN GAME I ALREADY PAID FOR.
Hmm…I wonder if the two weeks early access stacks with PS3 owners as well?
In any case, you should also mention buying into this gives premium users queue priority when joining servers. Might be a hot topic right there.
Just one question. What about those who already own B2K? We are essentially paying for this whole package even though we already own 1/5th of it.
I swear man…the reason I left COD was because of the endless amount of money spent for things that are not worth it. Cmon DICE! This kind of stuff should be automatic! It should come with the game! I swear…every company out there is interested in one thing only…consumers money! What happened to free?
What happened to DICE? Did you hire a bunch of COD workers to come into the franchise and start making change to rack in bank? I thought they were all about what the fans say and not in it to take take take. Guess I was wrong.
DICE makes the game, EA sells it (including this premium offer)
Learn the difference kiddo.
hold up, did they announce aftermath? i heard about B2K, Close Quarters, Armored Kill and Endgame, but what’s Aftermath going to be about?
Things I think are bullshit:
1.) Two-week early access to DLC. Why? Why fuck over everyone who doesn’t pay you extra?
2.) Premium-only stat reset. What the fuck? I actually want to reset my stats, because I had a poor start to the game and have since got much better. The only options I have now are 1 – Hack, 2 – Stat pad and get caught, 3 – Pay EA money. I’m not doing 1 or 2, and I’m probably not doing 3.
3.) Queue priority. Really? Not satisfied with fucking everyone over with giving them their PATCHES (i.e bugfixes, not just DLC content) 2 fucking weeks early than the rest of us, now they also get to jump to the front of the queue? I’ve waited in servers for 10 – 20 minutes before now, and now you’re telling me that if I pay you extra I get to be first in line? Or that if I don’t, I might never actually get into the cocking server because technically everyone else who joined had BFP? Fuck you.
4.) Double XP weekends for premium only. Again, still not sated with the fucking over of the general playerbase, now you’re deciding that the free double xp weekend we just had is from now on only for people who pay you more and more.
————
Do you remember when you only had to buy a game once to actually be entitled to play the fucking thing with everyone else?
Jesus Christ EA / DICE, whichever one of you thought this crap up and decided it was a good idea, there is a special circle in Hell for you with all your fucking names on it.
They won’t give the premiums an earlier access tp patches, it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
People with different versions of the game would be unable to play together.
“Do you remember when you only had to buy a game once to actually be entitled to play the fucking thing with everyone else?”
You’re still able to play the game if you don’t buy DLC or premium service.
You bought the game, you knew how many maps were in it, that there was no stat-reset option, etc, and you can still play that game. But if you want to get extra maps and added features – if you want to expand your game and get more than what you originally signed up for – then you pay for that. It’s pretty damn simple.
Expansion packs and whatnot have been around for a long time now.
And all these things you’re whining about, they’re called “incentives.” The fact that you’re actually wondering why people who pay for premium service get DLC two weeks earlier, that really says everything…
No B*T**, The reason why we are mad is because all the Map packs from Previous BF Games were free…
Not to mention it was a fair game where people wont get things first, (Where the equal rights)
Not to mention Double XP weekends? Are you F***** Kidding me?
Since when did a BF game was about ranking up fast? Not to mention its only for the people who pay, Ill see my friends sky rocketing to level 100 in no time when there only level 20 Colonel service star currently, and im 40 colonel star…
What happened to the Good old games?
Well why im a talking to you? Your just another CoD Fa***ot that joined the BF Franchise along with the 80% of people who play BF3 now a days, That are willing to pay EA(Liars and money WH**RES) for them to give us the most crappiest DLC (Close quarters) Really? Since when was Battlefield a close quarters games?
By now I think everyone should of realised the consequences of CQ in a video game (Spam,RPG,M320,Shotgun fest)
Im off to not playing Video games anymore, It gets Sh***ier each year…
I might not even post on this blog anymore…I remember when there was only 20 posts on a topic each day when this BLOG wasn’t popular
What are you talking about? I’ve had every battlefield game since 1942 and there weren’t as many “free” map packs as you think…
BF1942 Road to Rome 29.99
BF1942 Secret Weapons 29.99
Vietnam had no expansions
BF2 Special Forces 19.99
BF2 Euro Forces 19.99
BF2 Armored Fury 19.99
BF2142 Northern Strike 29.99
BF2MC No Expansions
BFBC1 No Expansions
BFBC2 VIP was only free if you bought the limited edition, otherwise you had to pay for it
BFBC2:V 15.00
The only free maps I can think of are Highway Tampa and Road to Jalalabad for BF2 because they were part of a patch. It’s fine that you don’t want premium and some of the extras like queue jumping, stat reset and 2XP are BS in my opinion but lets not pretend that DICE turned into some evil money grubbing whore overnight. They’ve really never given away maps. Sometimes rampant anti-fanboi-ism is as bad as fan boi-ism.
Actually…who knew anything about what features were going to actually be in game prior to launch? Even official sys req’s weren’t given out until release. Com Rose, Voip, How squads worked? There was virtually no information available pre launch. We had to take it on faith that the game would be a true succesor to bf2 and we got nailed.
Looks good, im buying all the DLC’s so saving around $10 is good to me, as well as convenient. 2 weeks is kinda lame for non premium, but it probably would be 1 except for the PS3 had to kinda ruin that so to speak. The server queue is not really a big deal, i never really wait to join a server when it’s full, most people dont. The only cheap thing is the 50 euros, it really should be only like 40, oh well. Other wise im down, seems like a deal to me.
Coming Soon ,
BF3 into Mw3
. . . . .
Are you fucking kidding me?
Battlefield is dying fast. Good thing Arma 3 will be out soon enough.
i am looking forward to trying arma 3 …never played arma 2, but it sounds interesting.
could my pc play arma 3 when it comes out
Technically the weapons and vehicles and all that come with the DLC anyways, the premium options gives you other “member” benefits like double xp and stuff like that. I’ll probably buy it cause I like the idea of more customization as well as getting my DLC early, as long as I get it the same time the Ps3 guys get it. I dunno ill probably wait and see how it goes of course because EA and DICE promised a lot of things that we haven’t gotten sooooo… Well see
How much does the “Colonel 100 rank” actually costs? Is this $50 too? I buy that one and be done with it. OUT…
Shame on you for doing this EA, shame on you. But I’ll buy it.
haha yeah sadly that’s how me and I’m sure lots of others are thinking. We’re not happy with EA but at least it’s discounted DLC so I’ll buy it.
