BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

EA has confirmed the price of the upcoming Battlefield 3 Close Quarters DLC: the content pack will cost $15 on all platforms. Close Quarters includes 4 new maps, a new game mode, and 10 new weapons, including the AUG and SCAR assault rifles, and the SPAS-12 shotgun.
Regarding launch, the newest report suggests that Close Quarters will launch on June 1 for PlayStation 3 owners, and on June 11 for PC and Xbox 360 owners. EA and Sony have an agreement to bring Battlefield 3 DLC exclusively to the PS3 at least one week ahead of the other platforms.

yeah i liked the donya fortress trailer and everyones freaking out over rpg, grenade, and claymore spamming, DICE HAS ALREADY SAID THEY WILL BE TONING EXPLOSIVES DOWN, they may not always make the best decisions but they arent downright retarded, and also if all that ever happened to me was taking objectives, running, driving, more running, and occasional epic firefights, then i would have stopped playing long ago, i like dice because they arent afraid to try something new unlike call of duty, and just because your fighting close together doesnt mean that its like cal of duty, plus all of my friends who came back from afghanistan said that the most intense and epic fighting took place in cramped CQB enviroments, personally as an avid airsofter i am looking forward to playing the shit outta this DLC, and just using guns that i like that no one has ever complained about, im gonna have an epic time with my trusty HK416 runnin’ and gunnin’ and u can suck my dick u m26 noobs

Stop talking, wait till the maps come out, play them and then come to a conclusion… All I know is that no matter what, they will still be better than mw3..

No I am extremely pissed, that is 4 days before my pay check which means I have to wait an extra 4 days to play the maps.

They will have to release a patch before the pack since else we won’t be able to use the guns in other maps.

Not much to say… If it had been BC2 content, I would’ve been excited etc. But I must admit that in fact, I forgot about CQ. It just doesn’t have and never had that appeal ever since I knew that technically, EA is in control. ;(

Because it’s obiously overpriced. 15$ is 1/4 the price of the whole game, and now it’s even cheaper. That much for maps and weapons really is to expensive but since CoD got into gamer’s mind that it not to high, it seems gamers accept it.

It’s not like $15 is a huge amount of money, especially considering you get 10 new weapons which you can use on ANY map.
Seriously, they’re not forcing you to buy it.

And as for the patch, I think Dice did an awesome job of balancing the game. Sure, there are a few issues with suppresion and the M26 DART, but after only having to pay $60 for this masterpiece of a game, I am greatfull for everything that Dice and EA have done.

I agree Derpin $15 bucks isn’t bad and if the maps are that bad I just won’t play them I don’t see the M26 mass a whole lot any more don’t get me wrong wish they would fix it cause I hate seeing people’s battle log lookin at there top weapons and they have like 4000 kills with it all I’m saying about the dlc is its a fair price I don’t know if any of you are fans of Fifa 12 but wana talk about getting jipped $25 for new jerseys couple new teams and new stadiums that’s a rip off

LOL really, kid? Tribes Ascend, Planetside 2, Casus Belli, Battlefield 2+2142 mods, Killing Floor, Team Fortress 2, CS:GO, etc.
This game isnt a masterpiece and it sure isnt “a sequel to Battlefield 2″. It seems like the fanboyism inside is doing all the talking for you. Recently, I have bought 2 expansion packs from DICE which have included 4 maps, new weapons, NEW VEHICLES, skins(BC2:Vietnam), and probably a new game mode. Now this CQ DLC barely offers any of this, and I dont count CQ Domination as a new game mode seeing as how its just Conquest on a small map. On top of that why would I want to give DICE more money for a already broken game which barely has any teamwork features that were present in previous Battlefields? 15$ bucks for small maps that will probably be a haven for Grenade, Rocket, M26, Claymore, Spray N Pray spammers..
For the love of god please go play those other games and stop crying about this one. Some of us actually like the fact that there are different map types and varying styles of gameplay.

I had a good laugh at the teamwork comment, I’m sorry but go into any BF game and I can guarantee that you will find the lack of teamwork you are complaining about here. It isn’t the game it is the players, if you don’t like the game fine leave no one will miss you, but for people that find enjoyment from BF3 we will buy the map pack and enjoy it since we have these things called jobs that pay us money and $15 dollars is pocket change, not to mention I already got B2K free with a simple pre-order, so DICE is doing fine by me they just need to make a few tweeks.

But thats not why were mad those of us who dont like this dlc have to wait till august to hope to get a good dlc. I am not buying it, but i am not mad because of that. Im mad because instead of making a dlc that stays true to battlefields nature i have to wait forever to get a dlc i like. So yeah i do have a right to complain. If you had to wait untill august to get the first dlc you like you would be mad too. The more we complain the better chances to get what we want. if enough people complain it gets fixed. So sitting quite and content with something that is shit in the eyes of many is just stupid. I will never just be force fed what they decide to feed. Oh and battlefield is not the only good game ever made.
Why does everyone complain about the new DLC being not true to what Battlefield is? If they never tried new stuff in the series, Battlefield would turn into COD.
Am I excited for this close quarters stuff? No. But to each his own. Games should continue to progress. Sometimes people love it, some hate it. You will never please everyone. Sometimes in the attempt at progress, you take a step back. Lets just hope that DICE finds what works and what doesnt and learn from that.

I complain because i enjoy playing battlefield in the traditional way. I dont care if people like close quarters and i dont really care if they make close quarters. Like you said change is good although i dont really see the change here. All thats changing is that the maps are smaller its still the same battlefield but with less features. In my mind thats the wrong kinda change. I would rather see new features instead of features taken away. And in my opinion theres only so much change untill its not the same game anymore. Really how much can you change untill its no longer battlefield? For me thats when they take away vehicles and most other features that once made the series great.

BF3 is branching out, and for that I’m immensely happy, and anyone who doesn’t approve of this direction can not buy it and just enjoy B2K and the eventual Armoured Kill DLC.

It’s not that the patches include the occasional bug, it’s that their patches always seem to have some game failure issue and/or they ignore or don’t fix game breaking issues (PC getting stuck at loading screen if map switches to a different map than current one)
Even though it’s widely known and complained about they don’t even adress it. Ea support is useless, Dice and EA have both lied and false advertised, their charing us the same price for 4 tiny maps as they charge us for 4 huge maps with all sorts of new vehicles. Starting to see anything wrong with this picture?

I’m torn on the subject.
On one side, I’d like to simply enjoy the new maps and weapons just for a change of pace and feel if for nothing else.
On the other side, I’m thoroughly disappointed in how toned down the level of destruction is compared to Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Plus I’m fairly disenchanted at how the realism was bragged about yet guns have their own damage values?
No, the round being fired does… and the only contribution to it’s velocity comes from the weapon’s barrel length.
(Longer barrel length = higher muzzle velocity)
But in all fairness, Battlefield 3 does exceed where MUCH of the competition fails- it’s not the greatest at one thing or another but it’s a fairly “ok” balance somewhere in the middle.
So, I’ll give credit where credit is due.
So, will I be paying the $15 for this DLC?
*shrugs shoulders* …maybe.
I might pay it with an underlying hope that the next DLC (or the one after it) will provide different scenery like jungles or snowy terrains.
(Only because sand and dusty winds is getting old, FAST.)
And maybe with the hope that we’ll see the introduction of some truly cool gadgets like Flash Grenades and the addition of Armour Piercing Rounds, or FMJ rounds.
Basically, I want to see new and interesting (and a balanced patch). If they can provide the goods, I’ll bring the cash lol.

FMJ rounds are not a real thing, ALL BULLETS ARE FMJ, it just means that nowadays bullets have a hard shell aroundd them to stop shaved carbon from blocking your bore. and the only bullets legal for warfare under the geneva convention are ball rounds and armor piercers, however these are not armor piercing against like tanks and shit, there just usefull against ceramic rifle plates worn by infantry, since no one wears body armor in battlefiled, these would be worse than regular ammunition because it would just make a 5 millimeter hole wich is so useless, this is why U.S. forces in afghanistan requested the creation of the 6.8 spc round and the .300 BLK for AR use

DICE already have a lot of money so it should be no excuse… Not to mention the sales tripled within 5 months of BF3 more then the life span of Bad Company 2!

My point is that Battlefield was different from other shooters in the past, but now it is just like any other pray n’ spray shooter. I’d rather play BF2 with BF3 graphics than the current CODFIELD 3.

No, I’m one of the guys that has stopped playing BF3 since its repetitive and simple gameplay has gotten boring and I’ve moved on to other games. Never had the same problem with any other Battlefield game. Remaking BF2 maps in Lensflarebite 2.0 doesn’t bring back the good gameplay.

I still enjoy playin bf3. I think the patch ruined the game because its TOO balanced. I dont run into the M26 Dart problem like some people do. I think this new dlc will be absolutely unplayable if DICE doesnt fix the suppression and the grenade glitch. I will buy this dlc for the guns. I can use them on the maps I like to play.
I think DICE IS copying the COD format. But as a business standpoint, I get it. Game developers get into this industry to make fun games. Then, after they make a few good games, a big investor (EA) comes in and ruins the franchise and pisses off the original fans. Thats whats happened to the BF series in my opinion
Yeah that’s pretty much what happened with BF3. The most disappointing part in my opinion is the fact that they hyped the game to be a true sequel for BF2, but it was actually a mix of BC2 and COD with a bigger player cap. It’s also obvious that they rushed the game to compete with the latest COD (MW3?), since there has been so many problems with battlelog, servers, game balance etc.
BC2 didn’t have any free map packs. It had free maps. One or two at a time. And most of them were just refurbished BC1 maps.
Don’t get me wrong, I love free stuff, but let’s not pretend BC2 every pushed out 4 maps and 10 weapons for free.
I’ll get it. Although I guarantee being in Australia we’ll be paying more then $15. Seeing everything is over charged here. It’ll prob be $23.95 based on B2K.
Which is really quite ridiculous when these things are actually of less value due to being an isolated low population country. So the long term value of players and servers is quite limited. They still charge $19.95 for BC2:Vietnam and no local servers are ever populated.
Anyway I don’t mind paying. I think there should be more maps. Or even for a new game mode, spin off thingy like CQ, They should add maps to the DLC in the future for no extra cost.

Currently their are 4 dlcs released/known about. i cant see them releasing a premium pack that includes 2 of them after they have released, if they do they better have discount for those that own kark and cq
i’d assume so, but seeing as how they’re talking about it ans saying that it’ll be formally announced the 4th i don’t see why not. besides all they have to do is have check on each profile for the DLC so they could lower the price for the individual like treyarch did with the zombie map pack for the people who already had the pre-order zombie maps

theres no trailer for the last two maps and they still havent released

Just because you havent seen the last 2 maps in a video doesnt mean its not coming out June 1. Did you see ALL the maps in the game before BF3 was released?

I have talked to ppl who have played the dlc, and i have seen real gameplay of it, and honestly, it looks pretty good,it doesnt look all crazy and crowded like the trailer shows, its a lot more like squad rush, smaller players on maps with a lot of flanks makes for better more strategic gameplay, if this had more players and was more open it would be a cluster fuck spawnkill fest like team deathmatch. fortunately its not like that, most people are cautiously approaching corners thorugh halways, if they do run, its to run across a choke point to avoid getting shot. batlefield hasnt done close quarters gameplay, so im looking foward to the variety.

Ive almost unlocked every unlock for all my weapons… i dont need another 10 more weapons to bother with though they do look like fun… ill probably wait to see, though i most likely wont bother and wait for the next DLC

I gotta admitt, the Donya trailer looks slick. But that doesn’t mean shit. I think I will purposefully wait before I buy anything. I’ll read about how it sucks from everyone first. Haha. I don’t think there is anything wrong with a little variety, but the timing was horrible. Everyone is already pissed off. Release CQ last. Or even second. I also don’t like how small the entire maps are. You could have had close quater maps, with huge overall area. Or what about a top side open area with vehicles, then you had to go into a large underground bunker for your objective points? Game developers……
