The brand new Battlefield 3 Close Quarters trailer showcases the newest map: Donya Fortress. While we can’t say we were big fans of the previous Close Quarters map, this one definitely looks better. The trailer also showcases the new mode Conquest Domination, but it’s hard to see with all the stuff blowing up everywhere.

Let us know what you think of the new trailer in the comments section!

Be ready to be surprised 100% of the time. Paying 12$ to look at a blurred screen. Well, i’m getting the Dlc because of the sundry guns. However, tone down suppression, a little. I mean i’m fine with it it’s just i don’t now how it will feel like in such small enclosed maps.

Interesting how recoil in their promo vids dosen’t seems to exist….and how easy they aim from one to another enemy (try that on PS3 gamepad). It’s allmoast someone trying to deceive us console players…I will pass this one since the game with 12 oposite players can get borning where even within 8 players …I know they will offer “new famas” in those new weapons (marketing move) but I know as well they will nerf it down in very next patch after the release… I will sure pass this one! I guess I am just immune on their nice marketing tricks! But c ya at the Armored Warfare for sure!

it’s funny though how in cod people keep complaining about the game never change and no innovation. meanwhile in battlefield 3 people keep complaining about changes and innovation that dice try to made in their game.. i like big maps and vehicles in battlefield but sometimes i feel just want an intense gunfight in a smaller maps but i wont play in cod for close quarter combat because that game is shit and now i can even play cq map in my favourite franchise

As if it wasn’t obvious enough that DICE are selling out to the CoD kids with this DLC… now they go and put some ‘l33t c0latz” in the bloody trailer for it. I just don’t understand why some people think that COD created and owns the rights to use close quarter maps only?!? Many games have done the same thing before, CSS for instance. Just because DICE makes some maps that are granted, a lot smaller than the usual BF maps doesn’t mean that they’re turning into COD. I personally find it a welcome and refreshing change to the usual larger maps where you have to take a heli or tank to get to the battlefield. I still love the large maps to death and cant wait for Armoured Kill, but having some variety isn’t a bad thing.

clusterfuck/cod/cs map: cq-dlc, metro, seine, bazaar, tehran highway, damavand,…

        remember the “big maps”?
5 flags spread in a distance of ~100-300 m at max!

and dont you say “ak will have the biggest maps ever”.
we got to hear this like 20 times b4 the game got released.
same with “we got tanks and 64 men and jets” (but the maps are sized down to match the average console).
        fuck this.
compare the big maps of bf2 to the “big” maps of bf3 and be amazed!

It is funny how people downvote pesimistic comments no matter how justified they are, and upvote optimistic comments no matter how unrealistic or obviously desperate for optimism they are, when honestly, deep down we are all annoyed that Battlefield 3, the game that promised epic 64 player battles with complete destruction, unrivaled vehicle warfare, true teamplay and massive maps, is being watered down to another CoD rip off with small, indoors maps and 8v8 battles with random respawn points and no vehicles.

I know it is just a DLC, but c’mon guys… isn’t it obvious what EA and DICE are trying to do here? They are selling out their true fans in hopes of exchanging us for a few CoD fans.

its the fact its BattleFIELD not BattleCORRIDOR or BattleINDOORS if i want small tight intense arena battles i would play cod or css… i bought battlefield 3 with the promise that it was a “true sequel” to Battlefield 2. Yes battlefield had infantry based maps, but they were in an entire city not a fucking small building. Yes some people are gonna love it, good for them, i just personally think its wrong the direction they’ve taken with this dlc and its a down right disgrace that they think its what the majority of the player base are asking for.

I agree its stupid to just limit the game to just 1 style of play. The reason BF3 is greater than COD is the fact that we can chose the style of warfare we want to. In reality war does not just take place in large open areas but also in confined/close quarters as well. If your not a fan of close quarters combat fine just dont buy it but they act as if DICE forgot about them and are only taking the “COD” boys into consideration. Armored Kill offers more expansive maps of which we kind of have plenty so I can’t understand why people get stuck on BF shouldnt have smaller more intense maps. Failure to evolve/adapt or change causes extinction, just look at the dinosaurs.

It is not that CoD has exclusive rights to use clusterfuck-CQC maps but the fact that BF3 was advertised as a game with maps the size of a country and bashed the small CoD maps along the way. I see this as a nice break between the huge maps and a bit of variation for everyone. It is not like they replace all the old maps with these ones only, they simply added more maps and guns and if you dontlike it, dont buy it. Simple as that.

    “These maps suck!”
“EA is just screwing itself over with these maps!”
    “Close Quarters just sucks!”

Have any of you played the DLC yet? None of us have. So why are we judging?

We all thought these maps were going to be horrendously tiny, and yet when we saw the full overview it was much bigger than we all thought. Still small; yes. But nearly as bad as we thought? No. See what happened their? We judged something blindly, and our judgement was off.

So unless you’re a DICE developer who played through the entire DLC; you shouldn’t be judging until we get the DLC.

We should be judging because we have enough info to judge. Its very clear that people who bought battlefield did it for the large maps, because besides metro they are all large. I can judge because i know its not 64 players, there arent vehicles, and the maps are going to be very tiny. Those 3 conditions are enough to judge the map pack. Im not judging it on how good the maps are how tactical they are or whatever, I know they dont have the things that make battlefield great, so by deductive reasoning i know they wont be good.

I dont want change to become, “well lets see how many good features we can get rid of”. The kinda change I want is a entire new franchise or ADDING features(*gasp*) how about, “we have updated the player count to 128 or we decided to add naval warfare or battlelog or mod support. Why cant change be like that. But I have lost hope of these features. I think that planetside 2 is going to do the kind of changes that battlefield could have done.           Some people seemed to miss my point, so I’ll try to elaborate;

Yes, you CAN judge and have every right to, and I don’t blame you at all if you do. But what I’m trying to say is; if you’re disappointed now, you may see it’s not that bad when you get to play it.

Personally when I first heard of the very idea I scoffed at what DICE was developing. But when I saw the map overviews, looked at what DICE is trying to do, and considered the good side to the DLC instead of focusing solely on the negatives…I’m actually looking forward to it now.

However, I do feel that this could of been executed better; larger sized maps to compensate for more players while keeping it still small and literally close quarters, and of course vehicles as others would like.

My point is sure, this could of been executed better. But what we are getting is what we are getting. It may not be flawless or as good as it could of been, but its still worth trying before you make your final judgement. You just might like it after all.

          Well said Nick.

Too many core features are gone, or exist in a very dilluted version(Commo-rose)
          Things i really miss.
Maps with space between them, instead of huge masses of land, between the flags and the uncap. Commander. Helicopters, that weren’t affected by some mysterious force, which makes you unable to regain control, once you tilted a tad too far. Vehicles, which came with the stock equipment, instead of you having to earn ALL of it, what’s the next step; “Sorry sir, you haven’t unlocked wheels, or engine”. Repair and rearm spots, instead of auto-repair and auto-rearm(Would also naturally balance the game). A command map, with options like; Move, Attack, Defend, Mine, Repair.

Things i like about BF3 though, which also keeps me playing, is stuff like cool ballistics, weapon costumization(I never said unlocks were a bad thing) and huge variety of weapons, uncontested sound experience.

My issues with DICE/EA is not the type of DLC its the lack there of. 6 months between DLCs is waaaaaaaaaaay too long. There are so many developers releasing so many games at a rate that’s absolutely absurd and waiting that long between DLC’s is a sure fire way kill off a decent game.

You guys do realsize that when Armored kill wil be released there will be filled with lone wolfs noobs not giving out ammo/health packs rights?
Im scared that this DLC will be the death of BF3, I just hope that Admins will kick out none teamwork players, unless they turned into DO*%&$ bags… wait they have!
Hmmm i hope they release weapons and the Maps separetly, i dont want to spend my money of one of the biggest letdowns of BF yet!!!
And what happened to the free DLCs ? like BC2!?

They could have catered to.both crowds by keeping the formula they used with bf2. The smaller the Max player count thee smaller the map. Each of the maps in the cq dlc could have been one part of a larger map. They could have pleased most folks instead of dividing the community.

I have to admit this map has changed a large part of my opinion on this DLC. I thought they where going to be horribly Cod tinny but it doesn’t look like it. If the next map is better then this, then we will see what the DLC is worth. BUT ONLY if the next map is better.

Well, back to playing a Battlefield 2 singleplayer mod…. Whether this dlc is going to be fun or not, it sure ain’t battlefield.

Why can’t all the gameplay show the new guns!? We know what the MP7 looks like and the Scar-H! Why can’t we see the new guns that come with the new map pack!

They should have offered this for free on a patch, and make the maps available for TDM and SQDM. Or just put it all together as an expansion pack. Why are they splitting up the community in so many pieces? It’s already split in Vanilla & B2K. By the end of the year it will be Vanilla, B2K, CQ, Armored Kill & End Game. STUPID.

Don’t worry… by the end of the year(Christmas game release season) there won’t be anyone left playing it.

Kind of off topic, but does anyone else think the new patch made things a bit TOO balanced? All the guns feel the same, and they all feel awful. Everything just seems like twitch reflexes now. Imo they should revert to the way things were pre-patch besides the USAS-12 fix.
When someone is shooting at me with a shotgun and I think it’s a sniper, something is very off.

I agree. With the M4A1 now, I cant shoot a target that is 20 ft away. They lowered all the guns accuracy except shotguns, which should have been even less accurate.
