BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

With the release of the new trailer yesterday, EA released a Close Quarters fact sheet as well. The fact sheet includes much of what we already know about Close Quarters, but it also includes a full list of the 10 new weapons in the DLC. The list:
- AUG Assault Rifle

- ACW-R Carbine
- MTAR-21 Carbine
- M417 Sniper Rifle
- JNG-90 Sniper Rifle
- L86LSW Machine Gun
- LSAT Machine Gun

There are a couple of old favorites on that list from Bad Company 2 and other Battlefield games, mainly the Steyr AUG, FN SCAR, and the SPAS-12 shotgun. The new Close Quarters weapons will be unlocked the same way Back To Karkand weapons were unlocked: through in-game “Assignments”.

lets protest our dislike of the CQC maps buy waiting a week after release (so we arent part of their week 1 statistics) and just buy armoured kill the second it is released so they see which type of bf maps we care about

Yeeh, one euro or a little more per gun. And time to play around with the new maps. Not bad at all. Everyone has 2 months to save about 15 euros/bucks (whatever) to buy the pack if you like it. Or go buy beer with it and wait for Armored Kill. I think i’m gonna buy all of them anyway.
I hope the LSAT is good. It makes anice edition to the game.

I don’t really know why there are sniper rifles for this DLC but at least they will possibly benifit other maps.
To be honest, I’ve found a real kick from running around with a bolt action with iron sights since they’ve become OHK up close (I thought I was absolutely going to despise this since I never snipe).
I haven’t been too crazy about these maps, but I could see some real potential with iron sight sniping in these CQC maps.
Absolutely payne, one of the things that i’ve always despised about the sniper weapons in bf3 is that they aren’t OHK at close range with either ironsights/RDS/holo.
I used to run around with a RDS sniperskaja in bfbc2 and do just fine

Fn scar should be the SCAR-L, the SCAR-H and L are FN made originally.
For the rest I hope the guns really add something unlike some guns in the b2k, or at least bring a fitting value to the game. The fortress looks more fun then the office thing btw, also it looks pretty much like showdown from cod4 but with a basement and ofcourse destruction 2.0.

I doubt they would even make any kind of gadget a DLC exclusive content. Pay-to-win in an already retail title.
Please bring back the AT4, it would provide a much needed anti heli weapon. The kornet as it is isnt fast enough and you cant shoot very far above the horizon. AT4 pl0x plz
Along with weapons, what about new attachments? Or equipment? Maybe a new optic. Or, a new launcher for engineer. Maybe something to replace the grenade like a smoke grenade or red smoke for squad leaders? New vehicle specializations, new shotgun rounds, new camos, and new knife models. After a while we will have a LOT of weapons, some we probably haven’t heard of, which will add more variety!

where does it say in the fact sheet that battlefield has to only pump out gigantic maps? i want small maps i want more destruction. it’s all about what people want and the only way to make most people happy is to give a little to all sides of the coin. so stop being selfish!

New to the franchise much ??? The developers sold out, plain and simple. They have steered away from the essence and core values that was once known as “Battlefield”. This dlc is a disgrace.
They should call it “Battlefield, Cubicle Wars!”.
Where in Skyrims fact sheet does it say that they can have a racing dlc pack with new ferraris and lamborghinis. Just because you can do it doesnt mean it fits what the game is all about. (Large Maps).
People dont realize that you cant cater to all audiences at once. There is only so many you can cater too before it just becomes a shallow game. Honestly the smaller the audience you cater to the more the fans will love the game, since they dont have to compete for your support. But pretty soon battlefield will support close quarters, big maps, rpg fans, puzzle game fans. At some point you have to draw the line.

Is Lars saying that Battlefield 3 is designed to appeal to everyone, even RPG players, MMO players, puzzle game players? Hell no. They designed it to appeal to more players, but not as far as puzzle game players or mmo-rpg players.
The simple fact remains; DICE is no longer catering to the BF2 style player base whether we like it or not. Battlefield 3 is designed to “offer a vast variety of gameplay experiences and to be inviting to everyone”. In the end, we all get something we like; Close Quarters, the “Vanilla” Battlefield 3 experience, and of course the upcoming Armored Kill and End Game DLC.
So you either have to learn how to accept the fact that Battlefield is evolving and designed to appeal to a broader player base, or go find a new game to play.
Ok, I was not serious when i said that they would cater to puzzle game players. It was mainly to emphasize that you cant cater to everyone in one game.

Either make the game for close quarters ONLY or make it for big maps ONLY. I dont want to feel like im competing with other fans were supposed to be unanimous on what we want in the game.
Dice is investing time and money into expansion packs that the main client base isn’t even interested in. Now the hardcore fans are waiting even longer for new “real maps” so Dice can try and steal some customers from the COD franchise. What a bunch of crap.

Now unless you know EVERY single person in the BF3 playerbase, you have zero idea what maps they actually play the most. Now, from what can be inferred from server data, maps like Metro and Seine are the most played maps, so what do you honestly think DICE are gonna cater for first?
You may not like it, and the so-called BF purists around here (and don’t start, i’m a BF series vet from BF1942 demo day one) have a small fit when you point it out to them. I personally love BF3. Could there be improvements — hell yes and I think they need a bigger team to address them. Does it kill my fun playing it and stopping me from buying the oh-so-dreaded DLC ………….. no, not in the slightest.

8v8 maps….seriously…I’m passing on this dlc…and so are others. Lets see how the metro fanboys like this dlc with 8 person teams.
These weapons appear to be very favorable. I’m a Xbox360 player, and i like to help my comrades in almost every situation. I play fair and use nearly all the weapons. For I see their most useful environments and situations. I cooperate with my squad, even when I’ve never met them. I like PC gamers, and PS3 players, for we are all congregating here, discussing our favorite game. This DLC is looking promising for the entire community.

Mp5k looks pretty nice, would it be considered primary or secondary though?
It says MP5K Machine Pistol, so it seems it would be a secondary, which i am against. Honestly, i sort of hate the G18 and try to stay away from it. I just dont like the idea of automatic secondaries, and the single shot pistols are strong enough.
I have a feeling it will be a PDW. that way they can keep up the pattern they had in the last DLC. I think they only will be releasing primary weapons.
I’m sure hoping it’s a PDW. I very quickly fell in love with the MP7 and I could see the MP5K as a potential affair.

It’ll just be a re-skinned M1014 in all probability. Damn near all the guns in this game are just reskins of the other weapons in that class. Pretty pathetic. Much like what DICE has become. Battlefield MUST evolve in order to even rival the fanbase that COD has. I do not play COD, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t know that their sales/fanbase is higher than that of BF. Personally, I believe that this DLC will be fun as hell (isn’t that what games are about?). Sure, BF started off with large maps, vehicles and huge servers, but sometimes you have to stray away from that in order to appease the masses. I love vehicle gameplay, but sometimes a good session of “COD-like” gameplay is what a lot of people need. The weapons list seems absolutely perfect, but I hope that DICE is able to test the crap out of them and stamp out any outstanding OP issues. I will definitely be looking forward to the return of the AUG. The JNG-90 looks pretty damn awesome and hopefully it performs proportionately. I play on console, so hopefully the destruction 2.0 will be close to the magnitude of PC’s destruction. So far the destruction on base maps and b2k just isn’t cutting it for me (*cough* DICE *cough*, and I do understand that consoles have their limitations). This “vertical” gameplay as they call it looks to be a step in the right direction, but hopefully it won’t be a bunch of choke points that people can only dream of getting through. That’s my 2¢ and hopefully HOMEBOY MCGEE can learn to be a little more intellectual.

I’m with you on that friend! More camo from different armies would be awesome. I also think if they add like more attchaments would be cool! Honestly a hybrid sight or maybe dual mags would be a nice addition just more unlocks to customize EVERYTHING from characters to attachments. Id like that. Now before you flame me for being a cod n00b, just remember a hybrid sight is very practical and is in use by the US and other militaries

I’m hoping Armored Kill will add Euro vehicles like BF2 Euro Force did. Although it’ll probably be more like Armored Fury was.
It would be logical to get more Euro base Tanks / Fighters, think about it would you rather choose a Abrams MBT or A Challenger II or even the Leopold. It would be also nice for them to have the Russian Bulwark SU47 (beast of a fight!) ND the Typhoon Euro Fighter!
As For weapons more the merrier!!

No, it won’t be a secondary. Most likely it’ll be a pdw. This is following the same trend B2K did with two all kit weapons (pdw & shotgun) and two guns for each class. It would be interesting if it were a secondary, but being that its a submachine gun (which can be classified as a machine pistol), its most likely a pdw, just like the MP7, which you could equally classify as a machine pistol as well.
Theres bound for one of these weapons to be Over powered… you know what that means guys?

There are servers that will auto-kick you if you use a weapon not allowed. I’m sure this will apply in the DLC.
Just looked the HK417 up on wiki and …
“In addition, a well proven 50-round, low profile drum magazine developed by HK for the HK21E machine gun can be fitted to the HK417 for use in support and sustained fire applications”

the HK417 is a m416 with 7.62mm NATO rounds instead of 5.56mm NATO. in the same wiki page shows that it comes with a 10 or 20 round standard. i believe it will be in the same semi-auto sniper category as the SKS, i mean, not as much damage as the mk11, svd, m39, but more spammable with a (i believe) 20 round magazine SKS like since the SKS is unique (for now)
The SKS must be one of the most underused weapons on Battlefield 3, only seen a couple of people use it. i think the HK417 (M417) will follow suit. If you do use it though don’t use it as a Sniper Rifle simple use it as a Marksman’s Rifle, Attach Scope of no more than x4, grip and Laser sight / Suppressor. I’ve use this setup on the SKS and its owns! (If you dont have the suppressor on you do get alot of aggro! trust me! =])
I will buy cause it is a new game with-in a game the dev’s are working at their post giving us Add On Content,DLC, Persistence,new game mode, and cross my fingers for it in the future New CO-OP??? idk maybe.
