BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
After the announcement of 3 DLC packs a few weeks ago, many Battlefield 3 fans complained that it was too little, too late. However, according to DICE’s Alan Kertz, the DLC delay had one big reason, as Kertz shared with Reddit users:
“The big reason that “it’s taking so long” is that we pushed hard on BF3, and lots of developers pushed vacations, parental leave and other things for a while to ship a product they could be proud about. After that was done, it takes a while to get people back into the office and up to speed.”
It seems that there are still developers out there who care about employee happiness 
We’ve heard DICE say several times over the past year that when it comes to downloadable content, they go for quality rather than quantity. The recently announced 3 DLC packs, which will be released this year, aren’t much compared to Modern Warfare’s 20-something DLC packs, which mostly include maps and not much else.
The first DLC, Close Quarters, is scheduled for release in June. A patch will be released before the DLC, and is currently in certification at Microsoft and Sony.

I swear, young people now-a-days feel so entitled to everything… You guys realize that back in the day there was no such thing as a “DLC.” If you wanted more from a game, you simply waited until a sequel came out, which could be years. Sometimes they would release an “expansion pack” which is similar to a DLC, but it’s also something that came out probably a year after the game does or sometimes more. Are we seriously so ADHD that if something doesn’t get released every month we’ll get our blood pressures all elevated bitching and whining about everything on the internet? Stop wasting your time here, go play some games, there are a million games out there, you can’t say there isn’t enough to keep your attention. I personally think there is more than I have time to play. I have games that I’ve bought that I haven’t installed yet because I simply don’t have the free time. Try having a job, then see if you’ll whine and bitch that something new doesn’t come out every month…
Remember when games came out and they were actually bug free and WORKED when u bought it? Now, they ship broken. Give u an update u have to download on release day cuz they want their money. DLC is a good way to keep people interested in their broken game.
Imagine BF3 came out and no update was there to fix the bugs. Would you want to spend $60 bucks on the next game they come out with? Not me! Im tired of companies pushing out crap and constantly fixing it. Spend the time. Make it right the first time. Is it REALLY that difficult?
I take it all of you live with your parents and don’t have jobs? Because I certainly wouldn’t like it if I had to delay my vacation because we’re busy with something, then after that’s done they tell me I still can’t take a vacation because a bunch of ADHD kids want DLC’s every month…

Honestly, Battlefield 3 just…..sucks. It is no where near as good Bad Company 2 or even Battlefield 2, it never will be. The Frostbite 2 engine is the worst iteration of Frostbite I’ve seen thus far. The game is so heavily broken and unpolished that I don’t even want to play it anymore. There’s no skill involved anymore, it’s just Frag Rounds = Easy Kills. Some people just need to grow a pair. It’s pathetic. I miss the old days of where Battlefield WAS ACTUALLY BATTLEFIELD. Now it’s just complete bullshit.

I didn’t really find a lot of the issues people keep on mentioning in the console version of the game. That being said, I only recently started playing again since I had to start a new semester of classes in January. But, Battlefield is a franchise created for PC and is supposed to have that level of depth and detail, so I understand both sides. Maybe this will all help out in the future by essentially forcing the next generation of consoles to “catch up” to the PC in terms of player cap, options available and ease of upgrade.
I also second what that one guy said about Frostbite 2 being a new engine. However, if there are seriously this many issues for PC players, maybe the PC fanbase should petition DICE/EA to have a separate release date for all future Battlefields. That way, the console version can be released sooner if they want to play chicken with CoD and the PC players can have the more numerous and detailed menus and options they want/need.
But seriously, raging on an on does not help get it done. It’s a new game engine and dlc doesn’t just happen like call of duty.
Personaly I have played every bf game out there.Loved them all..But c’mon Dice why would you let your staff take leave and holidays when you know everyone wants that damn patch..My suggestion finish patch>Release Patch>Then you can take a holiday ..see now everyone is happy

You would expect that the WHOLE team would have iron out all the bugs with patches before moving on with the DLCs. A question of pride.
What we expected:
1-Game Finished by a Independent DICE with BF2 in mind
2-Patch the game to a decent state + Decent Community interaction
3-Vacations
4-First plans for DLCs
What happened:
1-Game Finished rushed by a EA DICE with COD in mind
2-Long Vacation + Ignoring fan base
3-Mix od a Full 4 stage DLC development and a 4 months delayed Patch
Pretty sure 3 BF3 DLC packs trump 100000000 COD DLC packs

Most of you have no idea WTF you are talking about period…… The bottom line is the game they sold was fundamentally broken they knew this and like every other game company today they said fk it well ship it and patch it later. It’s nothing short of theft by EA/DICE because they misrepresented the product they sold us and knowingly shipped it anyway. You morons who are backing EA and DICE must enjoy taking it up the @$$ because they basically have you fooled into giving them the handjobs you @$$holes are passing out in their defense. The we’re PAID to make a COMPLETE game and they FAILED so to hell with their vacations and their needs and any other concessions they want. We paid for a working product and almost 6 months in it STILL doesn’t work no excuses no nothing I’m sick and tired of you kids and retarded adults with your faulty reasoning trying to explain away why they took your money gave you a broken product and now want sympathy from the people they robbed to continue and support the deadbeats when they can’t even get a game changing patch out in a timely manner. STOP accepting this kind of behavior as “normal” game companies are notorious for shipping broken games and patching them later and every time one of you excuses what they do you enable them to continue the trend wake up!!!!!!!!!

so patch before dlc well battlelog is being updated as i put this up so mabye its tonight it would be great but maybe maybe not
I’m Really hoping for some snow/dark type maps in the near future, I really enjoyed the map on BC2 but can’t recall its name..

You saw Back to Karkand already. Have you seen significant dlc (comparison to Back to Karkand) from titles such as Arkham City, AC Revelations, Skyrim? No? Then what are we arguing about? Its dlc and its more than there was before, please be patient and enjoy the incredible title DICE made for us while they make it better!
Don’t even get me started on the time that we waited in between DLC releases for titles such as Halo 3…and better yet BE GLAD THAT THERE IS DLC, THEY USED TO CALL THEM EXPANSION PACKS!!!
wow, the kids who complain about the dlc being late are such little whiny bitches..its not the developers job to cater to your every need, they arent your slaves, remember they are ppl too and they work hard at what they do, ive talked to developers that worked on bf3 and some of them said they missed slep for days tryng to get a dead line. I comepletely understand, I missed school today to babysit, sometimes life just happens and gets in the way, “all work and no play makes jack a dull boy”
So it must have sucked twice as hard to still manage to put out a buggy game even after taking a vacation

Making promises you can’t keep is one thing. I understand. Shit happens, plans change, etc.
Making promises you have no intention whatsoever of keeping but making them anyway because they sound great on a conference call to investors… low. Shady. Seems every single thing to come out of the collective EA/DICE mouth from the past year has turned out to be complete and total bullshit at the worst, irresponsible at best.
And I’m tired of hearing i every single press release, be a twitter blurb or an actual article, how “successful” they are and how amazing the game is. It isn’t amazing. It sure looks pretty, but never in my wildest dreams or nightmares this past summer did I think I’d burn out on BF3 after a paltry 150 hours. It is that lacking in substance, style, options, variety.

The responsible thing to do would have been taking another half-year minimum, but preferably a full year, and making their game scorching hot, polished to a mirror shine, smooth as eggs (as Chappele would say), not crapping on a disc and smashing it into a photocopier to beat Call of Duty 57.
