Origin, EA online game distribution service is offering a big incentive for gamers to preorder Mass Effect 3. Anyone who preorder ME3 through Origin will get a bonus copy of Battlefield 3.

According to the Origin website, the offer expires 5th March, 2012 and is applicable to people who do not have a digital copy of BF3 (Meaning the free BF3 copy is the PC version). Customers will be emailed the code by 8th March, 2012. The offer is only valid for US and Canada.

As you can see from the screenshot above, it seems the ME3 pre-order bonus applies regardless whether you are ordering the PC or console version. This isn’t the first time Origin is having this type of promotion.

Still, we think it is still a pretty good deal considering BF3 has only been on the market for a couple of months.

    I think its frigging sad.
They release BF3 and it has its fair share of problems, but those problems only became bigger and bigger and with the h@ckers it became EVEN BIGGER.
Nothing has been done and that ‘anti cheat’ job that they posted on the net is pure bullcrap. There are several people in my community that has sent their resume but absolutely nothing has been done with them. Not even a courtesy e-mail or not even an auto e-mail with a confirmation or whatever. Nothing.
A crapload of people have stopped playing battlefield 3 and all of that because of the hackers mainly.
The bugs are there but they are nothing too serious.

And now they give away a broken ass game for free.
People on the ea forums who wanted to purchase bf3 got replies that they shouldn’t.
I also think its sad for the people who already purchased bf3, they played a little, had to deal with ALL of the crap in the game so far (bugs/hackers) and gave most of the feedback to ea/dice and now they give it away for free….

    Anyway here’s my two cents.

    screw dice imo

Doubt Mod Tools would have made a big difference. We’d have had the ability to have Player-Hosted Servers yeah, we could be playing Custom-Made Maps by now, yeah, we could have had Community Patches to fix most of the Issues a long time ago (like Commo Rose… >.>) but Hacking? Nope. That’s all Client-Side, not Server-side. Mod Tools only work for Client-Side stuff, just like Hacking Tools.

So once word on the street gets out that the game (BF3) is crap they now they have to bundle it with other titles to get people to “buy” it.

what a joke, bf3 is such a let down compared to previous titles. Just goes to show that a little lipstick and polish isn’t what makes a title; its the actual game mechanics and features… go figure dice. I personally blame Lars Gustavsson and his team for ruining the battlefield franchise for me.

I’m still certain this game isn’t as much of a letdown as you all complain that it is. Battlefield isn’t perfect, but I still love it. I love the good things about it and do not get lost in the minor bugs. I play on console so it doesn’t look beautiful, but I feel there are maybe less problems to deal with. I’m usually enraptured in the gameplay and I play with friends which ups the experience too. I mean seriously, are all the comments on this bf3blog site going to be anti-bf3? I find it too pathetic that you all have to blame EA or give DICE the middle finger. These guys designed one hell of a game, that works well with teamwork. THERE ARE NO OTHER SHOOTERS LIKE IT. EA isn’t the best for customer service, but they havent had failing servers or hidden fees that we know of. Really what I think everyone needs to do is find a friend and just play the game and enjoy what it is and how far it’s come from bf2.

minor bugs??? seriously dude take off the blinders. nonetheless, put all the bugs aside and look at the game strictly judging the game mechanics and feature set compared to previous games in the series (And No, NOT BC!!!) you said it all when you told us you play on the console. I’m not hating and will prob sound like a PC fanboi here, but there was something very very special with BF2 was lost with BF3… I much like many gamers have gone back to BF2 just out of pure frustration. I made the mistake of preordering bf3 but believe me, that will be the LAST time I ever preorder any BF game from now on… I can’t trust DICE like I’d used to…

Here’s the plain and simple truth. Ignoring graphics and sound, if BF2 were released tomorrow, everyone would think it was a SEQUAL to BF3. It has so many more features and was much more finely tuned and balanced with far less glitches.

BF3 was a step backwards. Plain and simple.

I have bf2 for the pc, so In all respect I’m not just praising consoles. However, when I play on the 360 all of the things I’ve heard people complain about don’t appear at all to me. I believe the issues are mostly of oriented and I feel bad for you all, and wish that you could enjoy the game as I do. For those of you who whine on consoles; I do not understand. There are few bugs like character motion defects and strange vehicle behavior, but for the most part it’s problem free. To add to my point the game came out late October and there is still plenty of time for issues to be fixed. My primary focus is just playing the game, and glorifying it, not as a sequel but as DICE FPS. For everyone that plays on the 360 feel free to hit me up my gamertag is my posting tag, and my stats are all up on bf3stats.com if you question how seriously i like this game.

A lot of people are comparing it to previous Battlefield titles, and comparing them to older titles…BF3 lacks quite a bit. The players have every reason to be frustrated.

Battlefield 3 during development was always portrayed as being the TRUE Battlefield 2 sequel, but when this long anticipated game was released, players found out that it was far from a true BF2 sequel. The game that was once glorified for its team work, game depth, and uniqueness was stripped of the the very things that makes it Battlefield (6 player squads, commander mode, team-work, etc) turned into a run and gun lone wolf kill-death ratio fest, just like a lot of today’s first person shooters. Personally, I feel lied to. Battlefield 3 was said to be the true sequel to BF2, which turned out to be complete crap. So, I’ll call Battlefield 3 a true BF2 sequel when they bring back teamwork, commanders and 6 player squads, and when they stop trying to make a CoD Cross over so they can become the “CoD killer”.

Don’t get me wrong though; I do have fun on Battlefield 3. I personally think it’s a decent game. But my point is that DICE should keep what makes Battlefield such a great game. In Battlefield 3, they took out major mechanics that defined the Battlefield experience we were all looking forward to, which is a slap in the face to all of its players.

I think you’ll find most game sequels like anything else never come out to be a true rewritten original. I feel DICE put in features to boost teamwork and took some out as well. I think it is just the players that have really changed, it’s been year since BF2 and hate to admit it but Call of Duty and other titles sped up our games, taught us to sit in corners and be afraid, or go beserk and ditch the team. I use the shit out of teamwork in BF3, fixing friendly vehicles, reviving, supressing, spotting, laser designating, useful spawn beacons, and even waitin those extra seconds at the beginning so I can get everyone in my Humvee to capture the first objective. Honestly, I know a lot has changed from the original as far as mechanics and familiar tactics, but there is a lot to be done with this game and once you stop judging it as a sequel, I find it a much better title.

BF2 forced the player to use teamwork, otherwise you won’t have much fun.

BF3 let’s you choose if you want to be a lonewolf or a teamplayer, sad but true the current generation is a bunch of spoiled teens who only care about stats and play as lonewolfs.

I’d rather have a game which rewards teamplay and more or less forces the player to use teamwork instead of a CoD like game with teamplay elements which aren’t as rewarding as doing it all by yourself.

Somewhat for the similar reason people slow down to oogle a car wreak, “fascination of the abomination”

But mostly because this game has so much potential to be great, it just missed the mark on many many levels it’s a bit sad to long time gamers of the franchise. it obviously wasn’t ready when they shipped it but DICE must have been hog-tied by the suits at EA to make sure it was out before MW3. That or they were smoking some seriously dank in Sweden throughout the development. I’d like to think that DICE hasn’t lost their Mojo just yet…

But honestly I think BF3 is a lost cause. It would be great if they could fix it but we’re talking about core issues with this game.. Reality is that I will just have to wait and hope they go back to BF’s true roots for BF4.

BF3 should have been released about 2 years after BC2, in other words, Q1 2012 Timeframe, not Q4 2011. It got shoved in the Fall Season with a bunch of other AAA Titles after a Horrible Beta which spooked off a bunch of people, and shortly after the entire Origin Spyware Scandal.

Instead, EA did the retard thing and figured “Oh yeah, let’s push it out 2 weeks ahead of MW3. We’ll steal a bunch of their sales!” /Facepalm. Tbh Game is dead right now. DICE should just bring out the next Patch already and start Launching DLC, not to mention start cracking down on Hackers hard, otherwise they’re screwed.

I’ve burned through BF2 last few weeks and now I’ve got nothing to play. Can’t do Crysis 2 since its basically Call of Duty: Crysis, can’t do CoD since it sucks ever since Post-CoD 4, can’t do BC2 since I’ve burned that one out. Guess Global Offensive Beta it is. Least Valve won’t let us down.

Conquest and Rush is no longer about Cap’n flags and armin M-coms, its all about Team Death match. So basically it’s a CoD players paradise. EA has targeted its game at the CoD audience too much!! Remember when the game was released and all the players were using the kits the way it should be used and all the teammates were happy when they won a game fair n square? Well now its CoD asses on the top of the leader boards camping with a USAS-12 and spamming people with the SMAW, not listening to teammates, and not handing out ammo/health packs. They need to implement Bonuses that provide much higher Points than anything else, specifically, Bonuses that reward you when someone picks up your MedKit (and actually needs it) or Ammo Kit, and you Repair a Vehicle (depending on % repair needed) etc. etc. etc. Bonuses that convince you its better to play your Class rather than just go Shoot-Em-Up all the time.

Its a Band-Aid Fix, but it would really be a start. They also need to stop wasting time dealing with the FAMAS or whatever else a bunch of Buttfucking Noobs want Nerfed and sort out the USAS. Like, Now. Not next Month, not next Patch, Now. Yesterday. LAST-FUCKING-YEAR.

They need to make all the weapons available to all the kits, and the kit selection is purely for the gadgets you get. Fuckwits always just pick their class based on the gun they want to use and not te role they want to fill. I play recon 2/3 of the time but it’s not because I want to stand in the back with an m98b point click adventure. I pick recon because I find the t-ugs and spawn beacon invaluable for my team, and run around with the AS VAL so I can be effective at close range, which is the only range the t-ugs and spawn beacon have any real benefit.

All the fuckibg medic just pick medic cause HURR it’s the class with the assault rifle. Or recon cause DURR it’s the the class with the sniper rifle. So every game there medic who stand on their teammates corpses and fire fruitlessly at enemy lines, or multiple recons but only 0-1 t-ugs and if they web bother to plop down a spawn beacon it’s way in the back.

What DICE did to keep us partly satisfacted:

You can equip the grenade, but no one does this. You don’t need to equip the grenade to throw them. Same whit the knife: you just press F
    for the Kill, like COD.

The ‘faction-based weapons’ are only the first, and after all, you will unlock them for the other team.
