BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
DICE is going to release a minor PC patch for BF3 on Feb 14th that will address some of the crashes that frequently occur when playing BF3. As quoted from battelog:
The update also includes support for the upcoming Intel “Ivy Bridge” product line and performance improvements on AMD Radeon 7xxx series graphics cards.
Here is the list of issues fixed in this update
Support for Intel’s new Ivy Bridge product line (as yet unreleased)
Fixes for two reproducible client crashes:
Operation Firestorm- Conquest Large – Fixed a client crash when users spawn in certain vehicles.
Canals – Rush – Fixed a client crash at the 2nd set of mcoms if the player drives a vehicle into the vicinity of the exploding rocket battery.
AMD Radeon 7xxx series performance improvements
Hopefully, this patch will address some of the complaints by gamers regarding frequent PC crashes.

Yeeeah, talk about priorities. Now watch as the PC forum is filled with thread after thread of rage because FailBuster started its kicking bonanza once again. Apparently DICE’s priorities are:
1. Fuck the customer
2. Fuck the customer
3. Fuck the customer
In that particular order. Every patch they release fixes very little, but adds a crapload of bugs. I took a month-long break from BF3 after their second client-side patch because it made the game unplayable for me. Looks like I’m gonna have to do so again. Also, MW3 on the PC now has more players playing it than BF3. That, in itself, is a sign that something has gone seriously wrong.
But, of course, They Nailed It, and want us to vote for their beta POS…oh, and selling dogtags instead of fixing crap.

DICE has said that they are looking for a new cheating administer, and the only reason MW3 has more players than BF3 on PC is because many people quit because of Punkbuster, so don’t blame DICE, blame Punkbester.
Sure, that’s why this patch doesn’t mention or address 99% of the problems. Oh, and you can’t blame PunkBuster. That company has sucked for 10 years and EA/DICE still went with them.
Seriously, DICE, fix this pile of glitchy garbage. I’ve already sworn off CoD after the MW2 freak-show, don’t want to be driven to hate your company, too.
I’m not sure why people refuse to blame DICE for anything. Punkbuster sucks. So what? That failure falls on the shoulders of DICE/EA (as well as Punkbuster). It’s their fault for USING such garbage security instead of a proper one.
If that’s too hard to understand, here’s the bottom line. People are dropping BF3 because the gaming experience isn’t good. Bugs, security, lag/server issues, crashes, imbalances, gameplay, map design….whatever else people have had problems with. That all falls on DICE/EA. That’s what making a good game is all about. You can’t ship the game with crap support, broken features, etc…. and then claim it’s someone else’s fault. Blame the hackers cause DICE isn’t doing it…Umm, lame excuse. It’s DICE’s responsibility to maintain that gaming environment. it’s an online game after all.
DICE’s reputation has been really hurt imo. I’m not preordering anything of theirs anymore. I’ll cautionously approach their next games.

You will play…they also fixed a crash in operation metro whan solder runs 5 times over the mComm than jums, pulls out the gun lays down, turn on his back and then fart… My game was crashing all the time because of last situation! Can’t avoid the filling that these fixes are more complains from son of Dice’s chef…you know: papa I can’t play because of…no problem son tomorow they’Il fix it…

Great news for PC players! I must admit, I’m surprised they would release a minor patch like this. Don’t get me wrong; this is a issue that should be fixed, but things like this in the gaming world are generally thrown in a games next big patch, instead of releasing a minor patch like this. It’s nice to see that DICE didn’t follow the same path, which would be just adding it to their next big patch and delaying the fix.
That’s generally because they’re able to on PC. Now that they’re well beyond the release of both BF3 and B2K, it’s easy to address platform-specific issues, and in the case of the PC, there is zero cost to a platform licenser just to upload, zero time needed in certification, and no file size limit.
Hell, they could patch the game every day if they felt like it.
AH HAAAAAA and there in lies the solution to all the hacks that seem to be getting worse by the day. Identify the hacks…. then make small changes to the game 1x week to ensure that they don’t ever work right.
Then again considering the POS Spyware that is Origin, why don’t they just run a scan of your game files before connection?

The only reason why I’m even acknowledging Elessar’s existence is because I have a strong feeling his comments are going to start a flame war.
Getting straight to the point; Elessar is a massive troll. He forged a reputation of being almost as bad, if not, worse than Skrillex. I haven’t had any hacking problems on my shitty console… I haven’t had any trouble at all actually. Sometimes it may take 15 minutes or so to get in a good game, but besides that no problems at all

Colour me unimpressed. Been waiting ages for this patch or any sort of ‘Aggressive DLC’ news and this is what we get? The fact that they’d release this by itself suggests to me the long list of gameplay improvements slated for February is a ways off yet. Player numbers are falling, the game is stagnating and the BF3 bubble is deflating like a wet fart.

DICE’s releasing phisolophy:
a. Things get released in late days of months, late hours of days.
b. DICE advertieses release dates only in months, and uses ‘early’ prefix.
Well… Eh, could be mostly true. Might be they’re planning to release at the start, and then it gets pushed back for unexpected Bug Fixing etc, who knows. I mean, BC2 was releases March 2nd, 2010. 2 Days into the Month, not even a week.
