BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
A few days ago, EA posted something that seemed too good to be true: pre-order Mass Effect 3 on Origin by March 8 and get a free copy of Battlefield 3. Well, it turns out it was too good to be true: EA has canceled the pre-order bonus. No reason as to why the pre-order bonus has been canceled, but to make matters more interesting, just before the bonus was cancelled, EA Origin assured gamers via Twitter that the bonus was valid until March. Go figure…
This isn’t the first time EA ventures into these territories — they’ve made quite a few false promises over the past year (like the free BF1943 for PS3 owners scandal). We can’t say that we’re surprised. And let’s not forget that something similar happened when EA offered a free copy of Dead Space 2 with a Battlefield 3 pre-order last year.
At least they could make up a story and say that they ran out of the allocated free copies of Battlefield 3 instead of just canceling the pre-order bonus out of the blue.
EA just owes people for scamming everyone.
I wish DICE would be independed so they could make the games like they want, not like EA wants

I don’t like EA at all. But I don’t understand people’s reactions here. So they stopped the promotion, big deal. This isn’t deceitful or anything. If they don’t fulfill the orders already made like they did with ps3 owners then that’s pretty awful. But just cancelling the promotion? Not sure how people can be upset with that unless they are bummed they didn’t react in time to take advantage of it. Though it seems to me this isn’t what pisses people off.
Just seems mostly reactionary. People read about EA and just auto-rage. And for some reason people seem to think DICE is innocent and the big bad EA is raping them. You guys need to check your heads if you think you can so easily distinguish between DICE and EA at this point. Despiste the rampant fanboys of developers and haters of publishers, the line isn’t really always so defined.
But then, those sorts of nuances tend to ruin people’s outlets for raging online.

By March 8. That’s when it was supposed to end, not February 19. The reason why we are pissed is because EA set a date when it was supposed to end, but then they cancelled it only a few days later.

EA even ASSURED us the offer was good until march. When a multi-billion dollar company sets the end date for an offer, and even assures it’s customers that it will not end until that date, just to only cancel it a few days later and give no reason what so ever…people are going to be pissed.
Not to mention EA has been pulling things like this for a very long time now. Their “over reacting” is justified, because this is just another thing to add to the wheelbarrow of shit that EA has made for themselves.
I understand people don’t like that they ended it early. It just seems to me people are reacting more because it’s EA than that some promotion was ended early. Promotions end early ALL THE TIME. Sure it sucks, but the kind of raging is more than just that. It’s knee jerk reactions I think.

It’s not necessarily about EA closing this deal prematurely. It’s about EA screwing up AGAIN. They’ve been messing up so many things over the years that people are just getting completely fed up with them, which is where a lot of this hate and “over reacting” is coming from.

For fuck sakes why the fuck does anyone even play bf3 anymore it has lost all integrity as a true battlefield and on pc it is has the stupidest system to even play it you can’t play it on windows xp hell you cant even expect anything from it in the future because ea is a bunch of money whores who only give a shit about how much god damned dough they can rake in how well they can fuck their puppets into given em more dough and don’t give a rats ass about the people who are given em the bloody dough (us) so if I were you guys I would save your selves the disappointment and go bake to the tried and true battlefields or even move onto a whole new franchise.
Who the fuck are you to talk about the future when you’re using Windows XP? Sure it might be “stable” but it’s over a decade old. Why you would even expect it to be able to run anything modern is beyond me.

Unless they’re refusing to honor the preorder bonuses that were made while the promotion was running, there’s no basis for a lawsuit. Canceling a sale before they said they would may be a dick move, but it’s not illegal.

wow, I just played the mass effect demo, and I was planning on getting it on PC just so i could also get bf3 (i have bf3 on console, but not on PC) well, nevermind, guess ill be getting mass effect on console when it hits the bargain shelf

Where’s the false advertising? They had the promotion; then they ended it. Happens all the time and EA have already said they will honor the bonus up to a certain date.

EA screwing over pre-orders that didn’t get filled when BF3 first came out? Now THAT is something to get pissed about. A company cancelling a promotion? In other news, eating too much causes people to get fat and the sky is blue.
We’re pissed at EA because the original offer said that anyone preordering ME3 up until 3/6/12 would receive BF3 free. They cancelled it before 3/6/12 after they sucked people in to buy ME3 before the release.

Just uninstalled BF3 today. What a freaking let down. If you’re going to promise us things you know you can’t accomplish don’t tell us bullcrap from the start you god damn idiots.

The only thing that actually makes me forget about all this horse shit is just getting some friends and doing Javelin Squads in BF3. No reason to delete it, its still a good game better than that other FPS that somehow gets more attention every year.
