Up until now, DICE has tweaked weapon accessories (such as the foregrip, silencer, etc.) globally, meaning that any nerf or buff would be applied across all weapons that utilize the accessory. Now, after DICE got feedback on a few suggestions last time, they’ve changed the system for accessory updates.
From now on, accessories will be tweaked on a per weapon basis, according to DICE’s Alan Kertz. This means that accessories like the heavy barrel can have different values based on what weapon it’s used on. This allows a greater flexibility when it comes to balancing out weapons. Previously, some weapons, like the FAMAS (see: FAMAS rifle getting nerfed), were overpowered using the foregrip attachment.

BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Okay. That’s great and all. But stop the tweaks and just start fixing the remaining bugs and glitches. VOIP could also use work.
I have had it with this idiotic non-helpful comment! Every f-ing dweeb out there only has one response to one of the most interactive game designers out there: fix the bugs and VOIP. Well guess what? – they have a team for bugs, and a team for game design! The game designers job isn’t “make the game, then start fixing bugs” its “create a complex, diverse, balanced game.” Kertz is doing exactly that, and doing it with healthy interaction with the fanbase. The quality assurance guys are working on the bugs, go email them if you have a problem. They are doing both, get over it and be glad that they are doing it this way.
If they were truly putting work into it, something would have been done by now. Unless the team is filled with idiots. BF3 still has more than 90% of the problems it shipped with. In the long run, balancing weapons should take a backseat.
I will “get over it” when I see something done that actually fixes broken aspects of the game that have been there since release. By the way, there’s no reason to get snippy. This isn’t a life or death situation.
It’s his view point…. -_-
I support the tweaks per weapon, as long as the only difference is in the numerical value of the stats, not different stats or from positive to negative. So if x mod gives 10% more ADS accuracy on gun y, then don’t make x give -5% ADS accuracy on gun z. I’m sure they wouldn’t do such a thing. So this sounds good to me.
I think it’d be great if they could show some values for the mods, either bars or numbers on what it does as opposed to a vague description.
They wont do that liar it just isnt something that dice would do or really anyone but something I want them to do is add a exact description of the attachment. Like, where it says foregrip helps reduce horizontal recoil add under that what % of recoil it reduces since it will be different for each gun.
ya for sure; that’d be great.
Sgt. they said that they were working on the VOIP (ps3′s mainly since it doesnt work like the pc and 360)
saddest part, i got over 100 hours in bf3, haven’t played it in weeks, went back to CSS ;|
they dont make games like they used to
you’ve got that right man.
Stop gun tweaks and work fix the matchmaking. I’m level 28 getting put in a room full of colonels. I’m good but not that good.
“Work fix”?
If you’re having English problems I feel bad for ya son, I got 99 problems, an education ain’t one.
Quit being an ass.
Anyhow, I support this too. I keep getting put with newbs, and I’m a colonel…
Yeah, but I was in the mood to use a comeback like that at the time, so I did, lol I love all the dislikes I got on that!
And yes I’m still SickTwisted, but I had to delete all my sign-in info, along with browser history, been looking at too much porn, lmao
It’s not a ‘comeback’ when it wasn’t addressed to you in the first place. Nobody is amused by your gleeful grammar-Naziism at a minor typo. Spewing bad memes doesn’t make you look very intelligent either.
The thing is that Dice thought they were smart when they made this skill-system, wich is pretty fucking dumb, if you are a rank 1 and kill a rank 45, your skill level will increase a lot, and you will be matched with better players.
But since no one is holding no ones ass in this game you can easily kill a “highly skilled” player in this game..
They should base matchmaking on the SPM and/or K/D
OnT, yeah even all weapons out, please the majority of the players, nerf everything that the noobs can’t handle.. Famas is sooooooooo OP..
Thats good, because i dont know about everyone else but the scar-h feels weak. It hardly has any power now. its 7.62 but i feels like its shooting 5.56.
another thing is when you have grip on most weapons, the character in first person doesn’t hold the grip. its not major but id like to see that improve.
other than that i think dice is doing a great job with the game.
if you wanna play on xbox like add me:http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/soldier/wA%2030k/stats/206333394/xbox/
No they are holding the foregrip, but they aren’t actually holding the whole grip!
Actually dumbass, the way the soilder holds the foregrip, it allows you to have more accuracy since you have a tighter grip. How do I know? I tried it. For real.
This is going to be really interesting
Lol, remember flashlights?
Dirty Jews
Its amazing when “That Brown Kid” makes fun of Jews…ah the world we live in..
Accessories is not the reason why im getting sick of this game but more
of the exploits that they dont even bother talking about.
- frag rounds on auto shotguns is purely ruining the game when idiots
can shoot 100m away and kill you.
- thermo vision in the day is passable but the fact that they can see
land mines and c4 is stupid.
-people riding on MAVs
- the 1 second spawn invincibility on respawns.
- claymores stay when the player had died.
Dice had it right the first time by them disappearing.
- Spotting worked better before the patch with how it stays on longer
and doesnt randomly disappear.
- most annoying thing is the weird aiming where it would act like youre
drunk where even a light tap swings the aiming (i have a ps3)
Claymores do dissapear when the player dies but they don’t disapear instantly. DICE acknowledged this and their reason for them staying for a set amount of time after death is simply for balance reasons.
Pretty sure they changed it so that claymores never disappear. I use them lots and after the last patch they stick around until destroyed or tripped. Unless they extended the time to like 5 mins after death or something like that. But pretty sure they just stick around now. DICE intended that with the patch.
By reading this post i bet you’re BIG camper!
Getting shot by frag rounds on 100 meters, tip: When he’s shooting frags at you.. MOVE!!!
Do you know how hard it was to get claymore kills before? Unless you were camping all the time, there was no point using them.
You want to see your enemy all the time once you spotted them? jeez..
The MAV.. yeah it’s stupid but it’s also very funny!
…also, the spotting doesn’t randomly disappear, it disappears when you lose sight of the player, then re-appears when the player is in your LOS.
lolwut? “the 1 second spawn invincibility on respawns.” ? I have honestly never EVER experienced spawn protection in BF3. You won’t believe how many times I got instakilled while spawning on a squadmate.
Do something with the damn mav Bot!!!! No riding. . And make it where it takes several blows to kill. Seriously the damn thing is a joke.
Mav is a one shot kill with the .44 magnum… That is such a troll pistol. Depending on how they tweak the weapons, I’m probably gonna like the fixes. There was a reddit post from a dev on this topic: http://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield3/comments/nwy8o/discussion_of_bf3_weapon_accessories_and_their/
They do need to address the many bugs, but I’m hoping that they’ll implement fixes with this patch. Oh and @bret: What’s wrong with having spawn protection… I personally don’t like dying before I can walk 2 steps… And they REALLY nerfed the frag rounds, practically useless now.
And why would you fly so close to a guy that he can shoot it with the games most worthless gun?
Magnum has a very low range and a very big recoil, 2 hits to kill in hardcore unless its a headshot!
Spawn protection is shit! If people spawn on someone youre shooting at why should they have the advantage to kill you before you kill them? That’s unfair, if you need to spawn, spawn safe!
Actually it’s one hit to kill at close range in noobcore.
You’re a joke. If you can’t shoot down a Mav then you must be deaf and blind. You can hear and see them across the map.
My Mav is easily shot down when trying to run someone over. Just ask a engineer with 9 rockets on their back to bring it down.
I’m really looking forwards to this. Maybe there will be more than slight differences between the 4 NEARLY IDENTICAL SEMI-AUTO RIFLES AND 3 BOLT ACTIONS RIFLES.
Nerf the Tunguska, then worry about the weapons.
I think they need to fix the F35 its more difficult to fly than it needs to be
You know, when this game works it’s shit loads of fun. For a lot of you with the cash don’t have these problems. Maybe you do. I mean maybe its not the game but has anyone ever noticed a shit load of people quitting after they see the next map in rotation. Off topic though. I think they should work on quality of the game. They know what we want already. Even if its so cliche to say listen to the vets. That’s what they need to do. So far I’ve seen
nothing but quantity.
Dude, Funny thing is, that applies in real life.
(Butter Bars ignoring their NCOs who have more legit combat time than them.)
Listen to those that’ve been there.
All the people posting on this forum need to
at least think about what the players
who’ve been around longer have to say.
In what universe, a SCAR-H or a G3A3 will do the same damage (Auto or Semi) and have a shorter range than it’s 5.56 counterparts? Only in BF3…
pfft
what they should really work on is the recoil for the SCAR-H … it’s way too much
Recoil is to be expected because of the use of 7.62x51mm rounds. The damage on the other hand just doesnt justify that much recoil.Still is far better than the G3A3, which is supposed to be an assault rifle, not a carabine like the SCAR-H
I realize that as long as there are re-spawns in a game no FPS will be accurate. However, is it too much to ask for some realistic ballistics and battle damage in a game. Most programmers probably aren’t former military or even avid shooters, but with a multi-million dollar budget to test the weapons at a range and maybe even use ballistic gel to get a realistic idea of penetration (possibly even test current issue body armor vs ammo). The programmers would then realize that 7.62 (.308) is allot more powerful than 5.56 (M4) and even 7.62×39 (AK). Also most armies issue weapons in semi auto and full auto is an exception except for the squads machine gunner, I am tired of spray and pray. Also a .308 round at 200 yards in the torso is a kill shot, no one in real life goes for a head shot, get it straight. Finally to all those complaining about claymores sticking around, that is realistic. Ask the poor civilians with missing limbs in former battle torn nations. They just don’t disappear, they stick around.
This too.
The guns that shoot 7.62×51 shouldn’t have been nerfed. This was mainly done to please all the COD players who bought BF3 to bide their time, Because they would NOT SHUT UP.
(No flame war to start. Simply glad they left.)
I think all the guns in this game that shoot this caliber need a buff.
However, that being said; In the same respect all the guns could use one.
3 rounds center of mass is enough to bring down even the largest of people.
Thus Hard Core is by far the most fun of game modes on BF3.
You may die alot more, but the realism is indisputably there.
Another thing:
Why are people complaining about claymores, C-4, or Landmines that don’t just up & disappear?
If things don’t evaporate in a real world scenario, then they shouldn’t in this game.
My two cents.
Well, the tug of war between making it as “realistic” as possible and as “entertaining” as possible will never be resolved, and therefore, it is impossible to satisfy the advocates of both
