BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Gaming outfit GameSpot has posted two new videos showing off some Battlefield 3 Back to Karkand gameplay, with videos of the maps Strike At Karkand and Gulf of Oman being played on the PlayStation 3. It looks quite impressive, bringing back that “desert” and “middle eastern” feeling we’ve missed in Battlefield 3. The video above shows Strike at Karkand, the Gulf of Oman video is after the break.

we need to leave console players alone. they haven’t done anything wrong. it is a place for kids that don’t have enough money to buy a PC or people who really just want the simplicity of the console. PC are hard to keep going and expensive to keep up to date. its just easy and fun.

Why are you assuming its for kids? And why do PC players always say its not expensive when some of you guys say its expensive?
Expensive isn’t part of it. ~ the same price really, and then again you can brand consoles as more expensive, due to the games being 2 times the price of PC titles for the first 3-4 years after their release.
PC IS cheap if u build ur own system. Buying a pre-built system (capable of playing bf3 nicely) is expensive. I also agree with the original comment – players in these videos usually suck epically at the game (seen how bad his aim was anyone?).
A PC is not hard to keep going.
At DRMB forums there was a guy who needed a machine running for 300. We got one for slight more than that, though it was more of guiding the user to decide, rather than straight picking out the parts.

That was done by a person that felt like a complete amateur. Not too hard I guess. It just requires the interest. And as far as I know this should be able to handle BF3 from medium to low, which is the same graphical specification as on consoles. Also you even as retail you cannot sell this for more than 500, simply people are not going to buy it as most are familiar with memory size and processors.
Also it is primarily in the west that consoles are perceived as cheaper. For instance where I live they are seen as a fanciful luxurity. Simply because here it would equate to having a game sold for 120 and the console is about 800, so it comes at more than twice the price due to the numerous resales.
All in all it is a personal taste that determines what you want to play on. So can you guys cut out “it’s cheaper” crap, because it is simply not true. Finance has nothing to do with it.
People arguing that a PC can be as affordable as an Xbox or PS3 are just kidding themselves. You can buy the latest and best Xbox at GameStop for $199.99. You never need to do anything to the console in terms of updating hardware, software or anything. There is zero maintenance and zero more additional costs after buying the Xbox. I understand that everything is better on the PC in terms of gameplay, graphics, framerate, whatever but many people are not capable of affording or simply lack the knowledge to build a computer capable of playing games.
[Insert platform here] is not linked with [insert other platform here] for online gameplay. Each platform plays with the same platform online. For example, PC users play with PC users only. PS3 users play with PS3 users only. Xbox users play with Xbox users only. So if you don’t like a certain platform; don’t use it. If you want to start a flame war go do it somewhere else. After all, I come here for quality BF3 news (which BF3blog always delivers). When I read the comments section it makes me sick how people are waging a pointless flame war over whose platform is better. They both have their pro’s and con’s. Play the platform that YOU like, and ignore the PC elitist and console fan boys.
TL;DR
We are all playing the same game.
Play the platform you prefer.
If you don’t like a certain platform, then you don’t have to play with that platform.

The rubber banding i’m getting is terrible but I keep wanting to play team deathmatch on Terhan Highway so yeah, but cod was released today so all the noobs should leave now.Terhan highway is said to lag ALL the time, but its the only night time map so……….
This is some epic stuff! In the strike to karkand map, when the dude got shot off of the building by the tank… that was amazing! Can’t Wait!!!!

Why would you show 3-flag console gameplay? At least show the good stuff.

actually the most important on that vid is not the 3 flags, actually is the destruction on the building the player was on, the lightning (really bright map) and the remastered map itself with the new engine
actually the most important thing is the flag placement if you ever played bf2 you would actually understand how this changes the whole dynamic of the map moving the flag to this location (I love it btw actually!!!) and also actually the building destruction in the area is not only on the central building in the video, guarantee you will be mowed down going to this flag!
oh yea i said ‘actually’ a whole bunch to be facetious…
p.s. this map is legendary and it is only becoming more so…
ok this guy sucks! i am a console player on the PS3 and its not that hard to aim for christ sake! like he was missing the easiest shots! and dont be trolling the consoles @.GoblinKrunch.

i could have sworn i saw something that said that the BTK would be more like BF2 where one team starts with all the flags and the other teams starts with one. Maybe for pc players, who knows. Anyone care to discuss?
Yeah, its called “Conquest Assault” you can see it at the very beginning on the Loading Screen.
Basically one side starts with all Flags, and the Objective is to capture them back.
To the poster below – Yes, its been confirmed they’re available on all Modes.

WTF, only 3 flags on consoles? thnx dice!! i understand we have limited players to 24, but the maps are still huge as the pc, they coulda at least put 4 or more flags to make it feel more balanced and fun, lame…im stickin to rush
Actually the Console Maps are down-sized.
Caspian border has 4 flags, there were a handful of maps on BC2 that had 4 flags, and on BF1943 the maps had 5 flags… and all those have 24 players, so I really don’t see why they only have 3. If PC has 7, they could at least make the console version 4.
It’s because of the computing power required for the “extra” re-imagined goodies. The BFBC2 maps that had 4 cq areas, didn’t have alot of destruction or visuals that ate computing power…. come on, I am a PS3 gamer, but I understand its limitations… It looks like great maps are coming!
I’m hoping that by then most of my fellow PS3 gamers LEARN HOW TO SPOT!

You know, the one thing I dislike about the animations in this game so far, is how when you sprint while holding a pistol you point it in the air like that. Nobody does that, dammit, you always point down when you’re running… It looks so dumb, lol, but I know it’s too minor of an issue for them to actually fix, so I’ll just have to try to ignore it, lol.
You could shoot your toes accidentily
Not really, its a common amateur error, but you don’t actually run with your finger on the trigger, you put it next to it, on the side of the Gun, so you don’t accidentally fire a round at someone/something. Some people even pull on the Safety when they’re not aiming at anything.
You aim down at the low ready position. Or maybe even at the high ready position. You are not aiming at your feet. I know you’re joking, but you really should NEVER flag yourself at any time. And like Implied said, you have other precautions such as not having your finger on the trigger until you’re ready to fire. So mistakes like that should never happen to actual experienced shooters.

love the gameplay….and my ps3 and no pc fanfag will ever talk me into buying a pc for graphics…you people forget graphics take the back burner to gameplay!!!! and the gameplay is better on consoles, disputing that just makes you look dumb. your worse than the people who say 600,000 copies sold on pc somehow beats the 3.5 mill on consoles. just get over it more people use xbox and ps3. you pc idiots just sound butt hurt that the pc game didnt outsell the consoles.
If you wanted gameplay then you’d be playing pc because of 64players, larger maps, Smoother gameplay, and pc players tend to be a lot more helpful when it comes to supporting team mates. Graphics are an added bonus on top of that.
if you want gameplay you play with 3 friends on the ps3 while your chilling and stuff on your chair that’s what i call gameplay!!!!!!

I laughed whenever some one tried to knife-lunge and nothing happened. This was definitely the guy’s first time playing. Still, looks like a nice wide open level with interesting terrain. I’d like to play it infantry only.
