BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
It only took a lawsuit to get EA to realize they owed PlayStation 3 owners a free copy of Battlefield 1943, and the company today announced they will do just that: everyone who purchased Battlefield 3 for the PlayStation 3 will get a free copy of the downloadable title.
EA says it was a “misunderstanding”, but in reality, there was no misunderstanding: EA didn’t follow up on their promise and instead gave PS3 owners something else and of much less value: one week early access to Battlefield 3 DLC.
EA has set up a new site at 1943redemption.battlefield.com, where vouchers for BF1943 will be given out. The game will be available for Europeans on November 26, while Americans will have to wait until December 10 to redeem their copy of Battlefield 1943.
EA is scared of our arguments.
Well I hope EA actually learned not to lie to PS3, XBOX, or PC gamers about exclusives or any other thing they offer.

Hmmm funny. EA just changed its ToS for PS3. You guys might not be getting 1943 after all. There is a clause at some point near the middle that states that the product provided and any other content can be seen as “as is” or “as available” service. Meaning that if 1943 is not available you will not receive it as part of the package.

I still refuse to play BF3 on a regular basis. I don’t have anything against Battlelog, it’s awesome but I just can’t stand Origin, well mostly the spyware part of it.
If you refuse to play bf3, then why are you on a bf3 fansite? It’s one thing to hold ea accountable for not living up to a preorder promise. It’s another thing to come on a fan website specifically to troll it months after release. Do something more productive with your time.

Got what they wanted? We got what we payed for. DICE/EA has a deal with Sony, Playstation gets DLC early and now we have 1943. You XBOX guys won’t get another game with time exclusive DLCs like some companies with month exclusives -_-

When I said “quality” I meant gameplay.. Not graphics.. Not the other people playing the game. Its not about looking pretty for me, my favorite games were on old nintendos and the first playstation. The most immature people you’ll find will be on the computer. I’ve experienced this. On my console I join a party with my friends.. No immature involved in my game. I played StarCraft for years. There were chat channels for cyber sex…. Everything has its flaws. You’re computer isn’t the mighty equipment you want it to be. Your opinion is your own. pc players get patches and update earlier than consoles
One thing PC users did get, not all of us, just some, was access to the ALPHA testing, not BETA. I was actually able to play the game 2 months before the actual BETA was released. I know its not much, but hey, I got to see the game before most the rest of the people. And there were a lot of differences at that time that you will never be able to see,
Console version of BF3 is awful. I own it on PC and XBOX. the difference between 30 fps and 60 fps really is huge.

No, true 120Hz Monitors can show the image slightly better than a 60Hz Monitor, with some people anyway.
I’ve seen 60fps and its crazy compared to 30, everything is so smooth but it looks like all soldiers are Olympic Runners.

All is well. And i for one dont think they were covering it up with the whole DLC ahead of time thing. Its only natural since sony’s competition, Microsoft, usually promotes Call of Duty on their system. In the end Gamers get what they wanted even if it was a petty issue. hopefully the PS3 players are happy and we can all enjoy countless hours playing Battlefield. ( I do wish to stress though, what about us Pc gamers? we’ve been fucked! : C no bf1943 for us i guess, but u kno wat! I can live with that.) =]

YESSHHH!!!!! i wanna record the most epic moments ever in gaming. i mean in call of duty u only get shit moments like a random kill, some crazy ass kill streak, or a random glitch. IN BF3 HOWEVER, the story is different. u get beautiful gameplay that closely resembles scenes from saving private ryan meets modern age combat! =]

i think they should, 1943 is free because EA promised that, and now when they promise 1 week early dlc, they have to keep that promise too.
If you work with that logic, the promise for 1 week early access is in lieu of the copy of 1943, so if they are giving the free copy of the game now, they should lose the 1 week early access.
yeah, that’s right. They said that they would get that instead of the BF1943. But… they also made that promise before saying PS will not get BF1943. So they started by saying they would get both. Then only one, then both again.
The principle of the whole law suit should have been seen by EA as, not about customers not getting BF1943, but EA not following through what they promised. To cancel the week early access would mean that the whole law suit meant nothing, and EA didn’t learn their lesson.
Here’s a suggestion, give the Xbox and PC on week earlier access, with the exception of the players in Antarctica, they get it a week later. PS3 players would lose their one week early access in essence, but not as far as any laws consider for the promise made.

I play Battlefield 3, and I enjoy it. But every now and then I like to go play Battlefield 2, while others might like to go play Battlefield 1943, or Battlefield 2142, or so on. Heck, today I blew the dust off of my old Playstation 2 and played the PS2 version of Battlefield 2, and guess what? People are still playing it and enjoying it. Just because a new Battlefield came out doesn’t mean that you are forced to stop enjoying the old game and only play the new one.

I agree completely. I wasn’t old enough to understand Battlefield in the WWII shooters generation and therefore missed by chance to play them. As such, I’ve been yearning to play BF1943 for a good 2 years now (but never got around to it) and in fact picked up BF3 on PS3 so I could get BF1943. I would love to give it a try from time to time (also there’s the matter of practising my jet skills by jet-whoring in Air Superiority
).

PC user here, and no they shouldn’t. They didn’t specifically promise for any extra content for Xbox360/PC so why should they give us any? They did promise extra content for PS3 however, so they should get that.

I’m a PC player, and though this doesn’t directly affect us, I fully support the outcome of this event. It’s about damn time that we, the consumers, stop letting corporations walk all over us and renege on their promises.
