BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Battlefield 3 has been out for about a month now, and EA Chief Financial Officer Eric Brown revealed during a technology conference in San Francisco that Battlefield 3 has sold 8 million copies to date. Previously, EA announced that Battlefield 3 had sold 5 million copies during its first week on the market.
Brown also revealed that the game has shipped 12 million units worldwide.

I’m loving the game, but they really need to work on those bugs more. The game is just still far too buggy.
You can avoid many of the bugs by paying attention to what you were doing when you encountered them. But, ya, sometimes I feel like I’m playing Skyrim. Fix the bugs DICE. Please and thank you!

FYI – When they announced 5 Million Sold, they’d shipped 10. So they sold 3 Million more, and yet only shipped 2 Million more. That could easily mean they saw an increase in Digital Sales.

Its an Article about Sales, I assumed he was talking about the number of Copies sold Digitally. Not the amount of Active Players.
In that case – Last Patch broke the Game for a lot of people, others been having issues since before the Patch, easily explains the small amount of Online Players. Check again after the next Patch.

hmm did you take into consideration that this figure is a worldwide total and that there are people who live in different timezones? Did you take into consideration that people have school and work to go to? Plus did you take into consideration that this figure of 8mil is split on 3 different gaming platforms and that these different platforms have the other aforementioned variables? Anyways, who said that there were only 500k playing battlefield on any given platform?

Idk about the patch on the PS3 but on the PC u cannot join any server without first installing the patch. Did the patch install completely?
This is how I see it.
5 million = Dedicated Battlefield veterans/ people who will play the objectives
1 million = Noobs (long distance snipers that suck and are just trying to get a good K/D, RPG abusers etc…)
1million = hackers
5 Hundred Thousand = COD veterans who don’t even bother to learn the mechanics of the game and lone wolf 100% of the time
250 Thousand = TDM campers
250 Thousand = Vehicle campers that can’t fly/drive for their life (And no, I have no problem with good drivers/pilots, they make all the difference in a game)
Just to clarify and to stop any incoming hate, I have no problem whatsoever with long distance snipers that are very good, and I have no problem with CoD vets or anyone for that matter that will learn to play the game and is open to new strategies.

Well, looks like EA’s strategy of marketing the game as a quite direct CoD competitor is working quite well.
If you have no idea what’s going on and are still cluelessly participating in the “CoD vs. Battlefield: Which is Better?” debate, EA has poured a ton of marketing money into BF3 to share or steal some significant sum of market share from CoD, as it has done, in order to cement Battlefield as the go-to brand to inherit that position of dominance once CoD inevitably caps out and begins declining. EA will have stolen away the single largest revenue stream in gaming today.
The second-largest being World of Warcraft, which is what The Old Republic is *supposed* to grab market share from.
Hmm I don’t know about that, Blizzard pulls in $150 million a month from World of Warcraft, not to mention its sales in Starcraft and the up and coming next installment of Diablo. That would top CoD’s sales any day.

the sad thing is the more copies that sell the less teamplay you get….the people buying it now are COD players hense 5 people jet spamming and hanging out at the base just to fly something, this is in no way a good thing people battlefield doesnt need to sell 30 million copies that would destroy the game we love.

i cant wait tell Bad Company 3 comes out. then Battlefield 4 comes out on the new consoles and i can get it for Xbox 720 (or whatever its going to be called) and play it on that. you people on PC are to good for me, but when i play the Xbox i do a lot better.
