Battlefield 3 back to karkand
With the announcement of the latest Back to Karkand trailer, DICE also revealed a new feature that will come bundled with Back To Karkand: Assignments. Basically, Assignments are a set of tasks that players have to complete in order to unlock one of the ten new weapons in Back to Karkand. For example, in order to complete the “Let it rain” Assignment, players have to get 20 kills with a Light Machine Guns and two mortar kills, in order to unlock the QBB-95 light machine gun.

There are 10 total assignments, each unlocking one of the new weapons. The Assignments can be worked on both in Back To Karkand and in regular Battlefield 3, and once unlocked, the weapons can be used in regular BF3 as well.

I’d like it even more if they let us configure our weapons and loadouts on a single screen instead of the click orgy of sub menus it is today.

Also, these assignments are easy as heck.
        20 kills? Thursday.
        2 mortar kills? Siene Crossing.

yeh, but better than just handed away, so there’s something to do to get em.
But look at the next unlock, it says 100/50/50 – 100 kills, 50 mortar kills, 50 resupplies – or something like that? Not too easy or too hard ;) ?

MP5 for engineer? Great! I hope i’m not the only one who knows that MP5A2 is not a PDW. MP5K PDW is however. Hence it got ‘PDW’ in the name.

I think this is a fun idea… ONLY, do you have to do all the task in one round? OR if you’re a casual gamer, the completed ‘points’ accumulate and you will eventually get the unlock after a couple of games..

Well, think about it. How often do you see people getting 20+ kills in a round? Maybe a few people, 1 or 2 a round, 3 at most.

Seeing as the example achievement is 20 LMG kills and 2 mortar kills. I’m willing to bet it’s a built up accomplishment.

it does not matter what games borrow ideas from what as long as it makes the game better then it’s fine. For example a few MMORPG’s borrowing elements from World of Warcraft and vice versa

You see, this is why the expantion packs for Battlefield 3 will be 100% better than those overpriced “map packs” of Call of Doody. 10 new, and awesome weapons, new maps, a few extra vehicles straight from good ol’ Battlefield 2 (even though i never played it). A new game mode very similar to the original conquest AND all that and more for $14.99 or free if you got Limited Edition…. Have you ever seen new weapons, vehicles or game modes in the CoD map packs…? Im very sorry if i sound like a fanboy. :)

Still, I remember the times when BF2 Special Forces was your regular expansion pack for $15-20, and had several new gadgets, ~9 new maps, many weapons, AND added weapons to the main game + vehicles and more indoor action.

Awarded to spec ops personnel who have proven themselves during any period the unit was engaged in active combat.

    Basic requirements:
» IAR: 5 Kills as Spec Ops Class

    Veteran requirements:
» IAR: 20 Kills as Spec Ops Class
» 15 Global Hours as Spec Ops Class

    Expert requirements:
