BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The first Battlefield 3 expansion/DLC, called Back to Karkand, will offer 4 maps that have been remade for Battlefield 3. The maps won’t be recreated block for block, but will bring some changes and updates with them.
A new competition from DICE gives players the chance to name a control point in the new version of Gulf of Oman, one of the most popular Battlefield 2 maps. DICE’s new design philosophy is that the new Gulf Of Oman is set “a few years later in time than the original battles”. For a comparison, they’ve released the above screenshots, showing Gulf of Oman’s “beach” capture point in Battlefield 2, and its remake in Battlefield 3. You can check out the competition here.

I fear they’re going to mash the maps together in the middle of these new maps……. especially if they’re redesigning them
Naa…the control points are going to probably stay in the same place as always. I think they will just add more stuff in between.
They might move the Objectives. So far it seems from the Image comparison they moved the road over to the side a bit to make room for the House. Changed Palm Trees etc.
But yes, Objective Positioning (Same as BF2/Moved to be more BC2 Style) will probably be a big factor in telling Fans whether or not EA/DICE is dragging Battlefield 3 into a “Bad Company” direction.
Or is the new Image just taken from a different spot? You can kind-of see the same Road there, but at the same time there’s differences with the stonework etc. Hm…
They’re just chopping the ends of to make it another Linear map to stop campers, i sorta like it now.
Ive a feeling, the maps, will be butchered.

Hopefully this is an indication BTK’s release will be sooner than later.
Not sure if someone made it up but while back there was a rumor or something that B2K would be due around a month after Game Launch, which means we’ll be getting the Trailer (there’ll be one I’m guessing, since they’re calling this an Expansion Pack) pretty soon, along with Release Date.
On that note, I’m very curious to see how long until they announce their next Game this time. IIRC BF3 was announced very soon after BF2 was launched.

I activated earlier but EA has a notice saying origin is having some probs with that so they are working on it. U will be able to activate soon.
After few C4, tank shells and plane bombs it’ll look exactly the same
