BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

By now we’ve seen the same old Battlefield 3 “soldier” thousands of times, from wallpapers, to game covers, to trailers, and even PC hardware and peripherals. Now Swedish media reveals the real man behind the Battlefield soldier, Dennis Lennartsson, who reports that he and DICE took over 500 potential photos for the Battlefield 3 cover, ending up with what we now know as the “soldier”.
Lennartsson says all the combat gear he wore weighted 30 KG, about 65 pounds, which he had on him not only during the photo shoots, but during extensive motion capture filming he did for the singleplayer campaign. If you think the Battlefield 3 cover looks familiar to the Bad Company 2 cover, it’s because Lennaartsson posed for that one as well.

Its a standard m4 with a holo sight, foregrip/flashlight, supressor, and magpul flip up iron sights. Nothing special.
It’s a colt m4 with a DD mk18 rail system, 10.3 inch barrel, Kac suppressor, Le 6 position stock, tango down pistol grip, tango down vertical grip, magpul rail covers, peq-15, sure fire flashlight, magpul mbuis sights, and eotech 551. Hard to tell who did the Battlefield 2 cover, might be computer rendered. However, Bad Company 2, as stated lower in the story, uses the same guy.
Battlefield 2 =\= Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

No…..Most graphic designs are taken by pictures then processed with photoshop…… and other complicated stuff…… especially at the start menu…… he went animated. Whole different concept with video.

Modeling (or rather, Posing) for Professional Photo Shoots tends to earn you a lot of cash, even if they only use 1 Image, and Photoshop 10 years of your life off it. Plus for a Game this big, he probably got quite the hefty paycheck. Especially since they slapped it everywhere.
Front cover for the game, on 90% of the billboards, and just about everytime you see something for BF3 even if it is a small ad, this guy’s face from that one pic. is everywhere….
yeah, he made major bank unless they had some kind of flat 1 time fee, which would explain why they used it so much, if not I would check that guy’s bank account for a good chunk of change….

Because what would be the difference? You wouldn’t even notice if he was a marine.
you might, Marines are the 1st to fight and I would think on avg. are more fit than others, so they might have had a guy look like he was on roids instead.
again… a standard misinterpretation in games is that Marines “look like they are won roids.” We are more fit than most other types of military for sure, but we need to walk and run more than others, so being HUGE just doesn’t cut it. It makes you slower and less agile when being as huge as people think.
On a side note, yes, you would notice a difference as Marines wear their gear to a standard but also have small intricate differences in their gear to “personalize” ourselves.

Just to clear things up, he wasn’t wearing the gear during the mocap shoots. Those were by-the-books mocaps: Skintight suit, IR tracking balls pasted all over his body, almost zero encumbrance.
His own comment had been that he’d been amazed to see the in-engine renders of himself, in real-time during the recordings, with all the gear on.
65 pounds? We wore over 90 pounds worth of gear in Iraq…. that’s before the pack on our backs which held anywhere from 50 to 125 pounds worth of more gear, ammo and more junk. He’s lucky.
Hell, the flak jacket, front, back and side SAP-E pads weighed about 65 pounds alone…

Hey- CPL Downs is right…There IS a difference between being called a Soldier and being called just a Marine. A Soldier, no matter what branch of service, gets their boots dirty and actually gets shot at. Someone who says “No, I am a Marine” is just some desk jockey sitting inside the wire eating three hot meals a day, playing BF3. Whle real soldiers are outside the wire eating MREs and getting shot at. I dont give a rats ass if everyone gets trained how to shoot like an infantryman in bootcamp. As for carrying 100 plus pounds more in his rucksack…B-tch please. No one carried full rucks around post 2004, well after the invasion. All the extra (non-essentials) were carried on the tracks or humvees (Including the rucksacks). Ammo, Armor and frags weigh alot-but nobody bitches about having to carry something that saves your ass.
