BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

So far we only know of four Battlefield 3 maps: Operation Metro, Caspian Border, and the recently revealed Operation Firestorm and Grand Bazaar, but 5 maps still remain to be revealed. Luckily, one of our readers managed to extract the names of those maps via Battlelog, and he sent us this list:
Battlefield 3 maps

- Tehran Highway
- Seine Crossing
- Noshahr Canals
- Damavand Peak
On top of that, there’s four Back to Karkand maps as well, which we’ve known for a while:
Remember that all maps will support all 4 game modes: Conquest/Conquest 64, Rush, Team Deathmatch, and Squad Deathmatch.
Hmmm wasn’t there supposed to be a New York level? I really want to see some btk maps.

Hopefully they’ll add maps from the campaign like NY and other places as DLC- it’d be great if they add the whole of Manhattan as a conquest map- moving from the top of the island to the bottom.
that would be WAY too big. mabye a scaled down version though.

There were many maps in south america in BFBC 2, almost all of them and also a few in Siberia (cold war for example). I would like a map in my country (Belgium). In Brussels or the Bruge with his medieval looks, that would be awsome
I think I saw earlier that there are going to be two single player levels set in New York. However, I was REALLY looking forward to some rush and conquest games in my home town.

EA/DICE isn’t stupid enough to do the VIP thing from BC2 all over, with the locked Maps on the Disc. This time Game Crackers will actually check to see if they did, and if they find them, they’ll have a Field Day.
We’ll probably have to pay for the DLCs though, yeah. Probably not much. Who knows.
As a Persian, I dont know if i should be feeling excited or sad..Most of the maps are in Iran… even though I dont live there anymore its kind of weird..meh it’s just a game
As long as you aren’t planning on blowing yourself up in any markets then you don’t need to feel sad. Otherwise, we’ll come gitcha.

I think new york is in the campaign.I am really excited for the campaign.
What we know about the Campaign so far doesn’t seem to indicate that. 1 US Marine in Iraq, 2014, and one Russian guy.
Now unless they do another Russian Invasion Campaign, I’m not quite sure how either of them would go from Asia to North America.

Heavy snow with limited visibility would be awesome on Damavand Peak. It would really show off the power of Frostbite 2.

I’m really looking forward to this game and playing in the ‘optional’ HI RES mode for my PS3…. yeah optional…is there any doubt that HI RES is going to be the norm and not the optional? Why would anyone play non-HI RES on a console??
I bet the framerate will be dropping significantly lower with the HI RES option on.
Just because the framerate is locked at 30 frames per second doesn’t mean that it’ll not go BELOW 30 frames per second. Sad, but true.
Perhaps… I don’t really know much about tthe tech… but if it’s installed, and immediately accessible, would’nt it be a non issue?

if i didn’t have an LED tv or my HDMI cables i wouldn’t bother with hi rez and im sure ppl without wouldn’t want to suffer through crap performance on their shitty tvs XD. and RIP BF3 beta.
You know the “High Res” mode is just for the xbox where the game HAS to be able to run off the optical drive?
The reason behind this is because the xbox sells without any storage and therefore all games must be compatible with running off the DVD.
BF3 is simply too much data for the xbox to handle running directly from DVD because of bandwidth limitations.
So the xbox has the option to play in a “low res” mode for those without the option of a massive HDD install.
This does not apply to the PS3 or the PC as you will be forced to install to play the game.
Why did people think that because the xbox had a high res “option” that the PS3 would?

Guys I think some people are forgetting one of the disadvantages of the Blu-ray reader in the ps3, it reads data a lot slower than the 360′s dvd reader. Sure the blu-ray can hold a lot more data which I think is infinitely more useful but it reads slower which is why many multiplatform games, such as GTA IV, needed a mandatory install on the ps3 but not on the 360.
Lol, this is pure nonesense… A movie on blu ray is approximately 5 times the size (5 times the data) of the same movie on DVD. Yet, they both take the same amount of time to play. Therefore the blue ray player is reading data at 5 times the rate of the DVD (5 times the data read in the equal amount of time equals 5 times the read rate). Not rocket science.
GTA4 has a PS3 install because they can (rockstar statement)
some of the old XBOX 360′s had measly HDD space so they didn’t bother

A reader sent them in last night with instructions where and how he got the map names. We assume he sent them to other fan sites as well. You just happen to post it earlier than us — fair enough.
I want to believe you, but why would you have waited so long to post them if that was the case? Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Rush, Squad Rush, Conquest, and (if you want to consider Conquest 64 separate) Conquest 64. So one could say 6 Modes even.
One thing though, “all maps” tends to be a bit mis-leading. We didn’t get confirmation yet that the Back to Karkand Maps (or any of the DLC Maps) will be playable on all 5 Game Modes. The B2K Maps are after all, Updated Versions of their older Counterparts.
Some of those maps sound awesome, can’t wait for oct 25 to come round.
I wonder if any of the maps will have tunnels (not subway stations), or they will have manipulative objects like how some maps on bf2 had elevators or gates you could open with a toggle switch.
Note: I believe the only bf2 maps to have these features were part of the special forces expansion.
in the beta on Operation Metro map by the 3rd mcom there was a picture booth when you went in a message poped up saying press b to interact and if you pressed b the both would start flashing

Who know? But imho I think “MP_OMAHA” was just a code name for Nosharh Crossing.
Nosharh Crossing is in a Port City in Iran. Damavand Peak is in the mountains like I said. Seine Crossing obviously in Paris. Kharg Island is an Isle at the coast of Iran. And Tehran Highway is offcourse in Teheran.

I think there’s a reason why there is 5 maps (was it 5, for now) in Iran, I mean the reason is cause there is a lot of going on in Iran in the campaign (think there is) and the later DLC;s will have other maps in other parts of world. – 1 more thinks it WOULD be amaaaazing if there were a map from Finland (where i come from) in some Battlefield game sometime, what wont happen seemly ever!

i really want to find out what Damavand Peak is. sounds like a mountain or something. or maybe to level ground areas that fight for the top of the hill or mountain.
Tehran highway sounds cool, like a massive bridge and Tanks and jets fight for control for the bridge like in that BF2 map.

I realy hope that geting spawn raped by a helicopters wont be a problem in BF3 at least make the your spawn points with more AA guns
I saw that happening in Caspian Border a little bit, but each base has a mobile AA and a fixed AA, so it’s not indefensible like some maps in BC2 were.
Plus engineers can carry rocket launchers capable of a lock-on to aircraft:)
