Oh please, spare us your low IQ ‘you guys hurt [game developer]‘s feelings so they’re not going to release [noun] in the future’ comment. Since when has any developer ever held out on releasing betas, products, updates, etc. due to a vocal few?

While I wish we were getting a different map to play, I can understand from a testing perspective why they’d want to use the same map as the Alpha.

Regardless, I am still all sorts of excited.

Recommended/Minimum System Requirements have been released (for Beta at least anyway) but it seems not been posted on BF3 Blog yet. Although, they’ve been available since yesterday. Google them, couple of sites I’ve confirmed myself have them up.

Minimum is Dual Core 2 GHz with a 8800/53xx something I think, and Recommended is Quad-Core Radeon 6950/GTX 560.

      Runs in 64-Bit.

i hate that developers don’t seem to understand that when we see the word “recommended” everyone is bound to think “well, ok, this is what i need for ful graphics” and it isn’t. i read an interview with the global community manager of BF3 and he said that to run the game at full quality you would need 2 1gig video cards. soooo annoying, jus makes you frustrated when you have a pc wiht those specs and cant play the game smoothly in those parameters.

hey that’s what they guy said you needed to run the game at max.

and what sucks is that they also said that it’ll also be like more efficient on memory.

idk i guess its the big open maps that bump it up so much. but crysis 2 (i know the world arent as big but stick with me) looked fantastic on my pc… and all i’ve played is the multiplayer demo on that

      September 21st, 2011 at 8:24 pm

So far the only early access is through Medal of Honor or preordering BF3 through the Origin service. There’s been no mention so far of console preorders granting early access.

        Yes there is.

If you have MoH: Ltd Edition/Tier 1 Edition, and you have played one game online, (I forgot, you must have one of these editions of the game already bought before July, so if you try to buy a version now, you won’t get early access.) then you will get an E-mail on the 27th granting you access.

Correct. I thought he was asking if preordering Battlefield 3 alone was enough to get early access on a console, and as far as I understand the answer to that is no. Perhaps I misunderstood his question.

Your processor is fine, assuming it’s at least a Quad Core. But that graphics card needs a rebuffing, or at least two more Gigs of RAM. AT LEAST.

The i-5s are all quad core. In the Alpha I was running a Q6600 OC to 3.0ghz, which isn’t even as good and had no problems.

RAM should be good as well. I had 6 GB of DDR2-800 and with BF3, Firefox (server browser), Origin, and Win 7 x64 pro I was using around 40% of it.

The 6970 should be a great card for this. I’ve got a 570 and was running on all max settings. Granted there wasn’t any of the ultra settings, but the game hadn’t been optimized either. I was pulling 42 fps average with the low end at around 32 fps and no lag spikes.
