BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
DICE has released a brand new teaser trailer showcasing some night time gameplay from the singleplayer campaign, which shows Battlefield 3 in a never before seen way.
In addition, the new trailer is accompanied by a new Battleblog entry, where Battlefield 3 lead designer David Goldfarb speaks about the singleplayer campaign. In the campaign, players assume the role of U.S. Marines Staff Sgt. Henry “Black” Blackburn, on missions from New York, to Paris, to Tehran. Another thing that Goldfarb stresses is that Battlefield 3 will indeed be a lot more serious in tone and theme than Bad Company 2.
Last week, Goldfarb said that Battlefield 3′s singleplayer campaign is inspired by Generation Kill and 24, which gives it a realistic feel. And it shows in the new trailer.
“The non-linear story in Battlefield 3 is told by way of a frame narrative where U.S. Marines Staff Sgt. Henry “Black” Blackburn is being interrogated about recent world-shaking events. What the player actually plays are Black’s recollections of the events where a new threat known as the PLR caused him to be involved in military joint operation all across the globe.”
So we’re basically replaying Black Ops’ campaign?
Well personally, I thought of Slumdog Millionaire when I first read that.
Lets not bring Cod into the situation let’s say it’s more like the campaign from “BLACK” back on the PS2.
it may seem similar to black ops campaign, but bf3 has been in development for 6 years, and the campaign was probably done before black ops was a thought. plus, i dont think your getting tortured in bf3. if anything black ops just made the replay campaign coincidentally when bf3 was gonna do it

I think the date at the end is a beta date (9/16), and since this is a singleplayer trailer, the open beta might feature both MP AND SP!

This game makes all cod players look like retards for still wanting to play cod than this, I mean why would you rather play mw3 which is exactly the same as mw2 and has had the same format for the past 6 or 7 years. I sure dam hope bf3 shits all over cod’s records on release coz dice sure have earned it.

The traditional Japanese haiku has a word describing the seasonal aspect of the subject. *Falling leaves* describes the season that cod will wither in. Pretty good.

I hope there will be a night multiplayer level.
YESSS! i’ve been wanting a night level ever since i played a modded night level from cod4. I see a night level in a war torn city. some buildings would be blown apart so they would be dark, street lights would illuminate certain areas, some buildings would have lights, you would have to use your night vision dynamically, meaning when your running along in the dark your good, but once you run through some light youd have to kick em off. I think it would add a really different gaming experience, grenades and rockets/rpgs could be used to blind folks using their night vision. In order for it to work the dark areas would have to be DARK, like if you don’t use your nightvision in the dark you cant see where your going…but then at the same time when your in the dark, you could see the lit areas…that would make it nuts, well lit areas would be death traps. How intense would that be to be running through the action and seeing gun flashes coming from the dark, kick on your nightvision and it reveals chaos. I’m all for it…not sure if it could work on consoles, pc could def pull it off.

That will be interesting because it will be something DICE has never done before and it would come with its own complications (eg. it being too dark) so maybe everyone gets night vision as standard and not as a unlock?
yeah, it could be standard equipment based on the night map, kinda like in snow levels your camo would be “snow-like”. I could also see the use of those flashlights/laser sights from the bf3 trailers. That would be crazy. It would def be a totally new kind of match experience.
Night MP would sick! Especially an urban map.

hmmmm,pc gamers are so full of them selves thinking they’re so smart because they can make a beast pc,whoopee fucking doo anyone could do that,even 12yrsolds which most of them are anyways not to start a flame*by now their impatience to read an entire 5 sentence paragraph has given me 80 dislikes without my point getting across*anyways……..pcs aren’t that expensive to buy,just a bitch to upgrade sense their obsolete in every 3 seconds with the new nvidia gtx500 xr pq TX3 9billion, then after that theirs system requirements and you need to find out which goes to which then either pay 300 for a new video card and then upgrade ram and clear cache and have enough space and have stuff run in the back ground and fickle around with the graphics settings like super light effects or more vividness or saturation and blah blah ITS A FUCKING HEADACHE
It’s a fun and educational headache. One that can actually make you a living, if you get good enough at it.
That’s the point, if you have a good pc today that can run BF3 at good settings, you don’t need to buy new hardware just because your pc now is “obsolet”. Even 3 years old pcs can run BF3, so it’s a console shit argument.

In my country everything is more expensive than in the USA. I paid 650$ to buy a PS3. I paid 700$ to assemble a new PC that should run BF3 on ultra or close to that. I get paid 100$ a month. So buying anything like that is hard. But I have both. I had some help with new PC from my brother, but basically I spend a year to earn enough money for both of them. And it was worth it. People should stop hating platforms they don’t have.

I love how you can see someone get popped up in the air in a flash during that big explosion. You just see the dark siloette in the middle of the explosion.
0:16 did that guy in the explosion get entirely VAPORIZED?
Also, night maps are not anywhere new to battlefield.
Even BF1942:SWoWWII had some night maps.
Not to mention BF2:Special Forces, where almost half of the maps are nighttime…
