BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
While we’re yet to see any Xbox 360 screenshots or footage via the official channels, some apparently already have access to the Battlefield 3 beta (or another version) on the Xbox 360. A user on Reddit to leaked a series of screenshots showing the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 3. The screenshots show the menus, the DVD of the game, and several in-game screenshots, including jets and a brand new, unseen map. You can check out the screenshots below. We’re not sure whether this is from the beta, or another developer build.
The new map appears to be a large desert map, in the likes of Battlefield 2′s Highway Tampa and Operation Smoke Screen. Keep in mind that these screenshots are from the beta version and do not represent the final product. But you already know that

It clearly says RT at the beginning and Press A and B at the end. It’s Xbox gameplay.

I see the word “Alpha” misused a lot. Anything that is remotely playable would technically be called an Alpha build. From Wikipedia:
The alpha phase of the release life cycle is the first phase to begin software testing (alpha is the first letter of the ancient Greek alphabet, used as the number 1).
Pre Alpha? At this stage they should have game ready and free demo to download for everyone -_-

You don’t know how old that footage is. This could be a couple of months old and been just been released now.

Everyone who has been ignored and left in the dust while DICE made games for Console Only, they are now on the right track by making games for PC first… and porting it down for console. not the other way around which in most cases does not work as well as they would want it to.
They didn’t downgrade the console versions because they like PC better, it’s just that the console couldn’t handle the game on full resolution.

console vs pc war is like conquest mode, control points are arguments. Pc players have some very stable and well defended control points here like: games ported from consoles are more arcadeish, focused more on shooting than thinking and teamplay, not well optimized. In overall they are dumping down games.

Gameinformer.com has some footage leaked on the Xbox 360 (shitty quality tho), and these screen shots really compliment it, hopefully bf3blog will get these videos in soon, would really nice to see. Good job bf3blog with the coverage so far.

It’s a beta. Possibly even pre-beta build.
If everyone would please look at the screenshot of the disc, it says right on the disc, “Pre-Alpha” build.
It’s pre-alpha. If you check the picture with the white disc, look on the left side, he has the “alpha” part of pre-alpha marked out. Kinda hard to see though, so you’ll have to focus pretty hard to see it.
The disc says it, but the build of the game is continuously updated online, so they might ship a pre-alpha on the DVD, but it gets updated all the time.
So what we see on the screenshots might be more updated than a pre-alpha.

you do realize that this was leaked by someone employed by EA/Dice, right? The updates won’t happen until there is an OPEN beta, and even then it won’t be updated like it will be when the game is released to retail.
It looks better than bc2 already and this isnt even the final product, so im extremely satisfied with the way this looks right now.

They’re just too expensive for what they are;
barring maybe the PS3 since I would only have to pay for the system,
not the networking.
It’s true though that both the 360 and PS3 have left the nintendo systems in the dust.
(Bit saddened by this due to the fact that the Wii; whilst being the most reasonably priced is the most gimmicky of the three consoles.)
However those who enjoy console gaming, More power to ya.
Just wish there were some inter-network connectivity so we could all play together because we’re all fans of the same game and are all out here for the same reason.

Hey Guys – figured I’d better weigh in here.
So, first of all (and some of this has been covered) this is an old build and is definitely not representative of the final game. In fact, this is not even reflective of the HD capabilities of the platform.
Glad to see that you’re all excited, but honestly this is probably doing more harm than serving “the greater good”. People that see these videos and captures might not take the time to understand or appreciate the source and quality issues that using a dev build presents.
I’m getting bombarded with people asking me if this is what they should expect from their console copy of BF3, which, of course, it’s not. So, the EA, DICE teams and myself are working to address these concerns instead of working on other things that you guys would probably appreciate more.
In turn, all you’re doing by circulating this content is hurting your own community I understand that you’re excited, but there is a reason, and a very good one, why we don’t circulate this kind of stuff publicly.

So they still have a lot of graphical issues that they can make ten times better, and considering that these graphics are still fucking amazing, and I would still play even like this, this shows that the game still has alot more graphics to be put in. This is going to be the best looking game for PC and Console, probably for the next two years.

lol i did an experiment one time…i got a picture of crysis 2 (on a maxed out PC) and i told ppl it was from consoles…everyone said “these graphics suck, consoles suck” then i showed the 360 version of crysis 2 and told them it was PC and tehy all said “this looks way better” it just proves that PC players (some) are just completely biased. If i wanna see maxed out bf3 gameplay ill look it up on youtube and save myself a few hundred bucks. Ill stick to console.

The graphical fidelity on either system will look so good, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference unless you scrutinize them both. A Youtube video can’t represent maxed out graphics because their scaling blurs the picture anyway. Even on HD quality. As an example if you watch the TES V: Skyrim demo videos in HD and go fullscreen, if you look at the foliage, parts of it looks like someone smeared vaseline on a camera lens, but it’s obvious that it doesn’t look like that ingame. That demo wasn’t recorded on PC either, it was console footage.

I was really looking forward to seeing what the Xbox looked like as i thought it would be the same as PS3 but this looks awful even worse than BFBC2 and yeah i know its Alpha but they dont improve the graphics that much compared to the final product, its a real shame less destruction and same graphics hopefully the game will be as much fun as it looks even wit the bad graphics D;

Lol, you obviously didn’t read the reddit, or the post by Bf3blog for that matter. Do some research first, then speak your mind.
Saying the Xbox version would look the same as the PS3 version is like saying the PS3 version will look the same as the PC version, only slightly less extreme. The hardware in the PS3 is 6 years old and the hardware in the Xbox is 7, it only makes logical sense that the PS3 version will be more capable, just like the PC which is as up to date as the user keeps it will be more capable than the PS3 (unless your computers over 6 years old). But enough about platforms, BF3 will be the best it possibly can be, no matter what platform you choose to play it on.
My PC’s that old lol. Which is why I’ll buy the console version; at this point, I’m going to have to sell my car and a leg for the upgrades. Poor man is poor…
And well said. I don’t think anyone should care if you’re PC, 360, PS3, whatever; we’re all in it for BF3, so why should we care which machine supplies us with the good stuff? It’s ALL good stuff!

actually DICE said that they can do more with dynamic lighting and radiosity on the 360 compared to the ps3…just saying.
they never said that it would be superior though, they’re only doing that because the xbox cannot keep up with the original FB2 lighting. Theres no way that they would completely remake the lighting unless they absolutely had to.
