BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Great news for all PC fans out there: the much requested Commo Rose command interface will be returning to Battlefield 3, as DICE’s Karl Magnus Troedsson has just confirmed in an interview at GamesCom in Germany (and via Twtter). Troedsson said that Commo Rose will return to Battlefield 3, but won’t be in the version showcased at GamesCom.
Commo Rose was one of the most wanted features from Battlefield fans, and it’s wonderful news to know that it’ll be returning in Battlefield 3.

So by their phrasing, are they confirming that the console version WON’T have a commo rose?

They’re obviously going to have a Spot button on consoles, no reason they couldn’t convert that into a commo rose button.
I would imagine that IF it were on consoles, you would hold ‘down’ or something on the d-pad or select/back and instead of aiming the left stick would move around the commo-rose and jump would select, or it would auto select whichever you were on once down/select/back is released.
All they need is one button to raise the rose then you choose with a joystick. What button I dont know.Great news though, Im not a PC player and Im happy to hear about that.

If there’s going to be CommoRose for consoles it is going to be replacing the select button aka. “spot button”

Eh, commorose doesn’t need more than 1 button, just like the social button in BC2.
Accually it would be easier on the consoles if they add it to them.
Think about it, a button opens up the menu and the stick go around the wheel. Don’t forget that the knife and grenades now need to be equipped to be used so some buttons are free now. It’ll be very easy and I think the console players will like it alot.
As a matter of fact if they do add it, I’ll seriously consider getting the game for my ps3 as well.

point,aim select, thats the ps3 version,today i signed off my job since i cant work there anymore because i’ll be in Libya, another thing is they sent me a letter assuring that i want to do this since earlier this month that helicopter was shot down by taliban,so much for that 200 million they spent to make it.

It was the most requested thing in the alpha.
I don’t think they’ve removed it, but I’ve heard through the grapevine that it’s been heavily tweaked. It was apparently pretty broken in the Alpha, but now it’s been nerfed significantly.
But that’s just second-hand info, I don’t know how reliable it is.
i believe for the softcore version of bf3 if you spot an enemy you we need unubstructed line of sight.
That’s what I’ve been hearing as well, plus if you lose line of sight on the enemy the spot vanishes (or according to some, just displays their last known location).
But I’m taking all that with a grain of salt and waiting till the full release to see how they do it.
Why you want that to be removed?
If you had been in the alpha you would have understood why people are mad at 3D spotting. It was very overpowered. You could just press q at any time and spot 3 people. And you cannot seek cover when it can be destroyed.

It’s not even like it would be that hard to do. It’s just a radial menu, plenty of console games have done those successfully.
They haven’t revealed whether it’s PC-only or if it’ll be available on consoles. Technically, there’s nothing that prevents it from being on consoles.

I really hope they remake BF3 for the new consoles (PS4 & w/e the new xbox will be) So we can have 64 players too.

If BF3 is going to be better than BC2, *which it will be* 24 players is plenty. Most of the fun i’ve ever had playing battlefield was on 24 player games, even on BF2, strike at karkand was insane with 24! 32 didn’t even seem like that big of a change to me. You’ll have fun, don’t you worry!
Oh granted it will be the best game i ever played no matter what i play it on. But i just see the map Caspian Border to make everyone go into vehicles and there wont be any soldiers. Thats just what im worried about it. Eh w/e like i said it will be the best game i’ve ever played
And it is true thr most fun i’ve ever had is with 24 as well, and being the BFBC2 is my fav game i believe dice will pull it off somehow. Thx for e reassurance skrillex
the maps will be a bit smaller than those on the pc, to accomodate the number of players, and i think the number of vehicles on the map will be also smaller for the same reason.

All, and I mean EVERY SINGLE voice command had a text line appearing in text chat. Even if for automatic messages like “Medkit here!”. The only exception was commander messages, they appeared in the killfeed (example “UAV on the way” or “Artillery destroyed: can’t give fire support”).

This is definately the sucessor to BF2.
I hope they have Commo Rose for consols as well. I mean theres nothing really stopping the consols from having it, all they need to do is move the scoreboard to the pause menu then make it to where pressing back/select does your spotting and holding it down will bring up Commo Rose commands.
And the fact that both gamepads have TWO thumbsticks that can rotate 360 degrees they can do it like on PC: take the button and use the thumbstick to choose and some other thing (pressing the stick f. e.) to choose the voice command.
they DID say that the Commo Rose was confirmed for battlefield 3, and they didn´t say anything about not being for console, it was just good news for the PC players who wanted it back from earlier battlefield games console players haven´t been able to play.
