BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Last month we reported of a mysterious Battlefield 3 book appearing on Amazon and other online retailers. Now EA and DICE have revealed more details about the novel, including an official title. The book will be called The Russian, and will be written by Andy McNab, who has previously written several novels, and, as former SAS Operative, he advised DICE during the production of Battlefield 3.
The story of Battlefield 3: The Russian, which is co-authored by Peter Grimsdale, is a sequel to the single player campaign of Battlefield 3, and follows Russian special forces soldier Dmitri “Dima” Mayakovsky and his missions.
Battlefield 3: The Russian will be released on the same date as the game: October 25, 2011. It’s not surprising to see major game releases getting spin-offs these days. Many games have received books, comic books, and of course, movies.
First, and that sounds like an interesting book (Though i never read them) Can’t wait for the game though!
Hopefully if they do end up making it into a movie it won’t be some ridiculous Hollywood joke. On the safe side, hope for no movie at all, seeing as they’ll almost definitely end up nuking it.
Book sounds interesting though. Possibly interesting enough to buy.

Russians are an Orthodox nation. Customs are that parents give their children names of saints and angels more often than in the western culture. Plus Nicolai was a great Russian Tsar (emperor), Dimitri was a great Saint.

good idea but i’d rather DICE put their time into multiplayer DLC’s, considering a significant number of people will never even touch single player… I would like the idea if it was a Co-Op kind of thing with a storyline… not enough games have those these days.
i speculate that single player is only to play when servers are crashing at launch.

Who cares about the singleplayer campaign? I never played a second of the SP in Bad Company 2, and I have over 300 hours in the multiplayer. I won’t touch Battlefield 3 SP, no matter what everyone says.
Honestly, I think the SP campaign is just there to satisfy the console crowd (no offense to the console players).
I only hope the campaign won’t be a cliche filled holywood action-movie-like blockbuster. But from what i’ve seen and heard so far it seems very likely.

Still believing that propaganda huh? The tank has been penetrated plenty of times, (Iraqi insurgency has shown this) and not to mention that it’s bad publicity for a country’s MBT-supposedly the most advanced in the world being defeated by homemade explosives or tubed rockets.

M1-abrahams are penetrable by heat or by up under then base of the tank, so yeah a m1 abraham can be destroyed EASILY, another think is you don’t even need to do all of that, just blast away at the tank, whoevers inside of will have to get out or else they die of suffocation or heat stroke, so yeah its has its ups and downs,plus what prevents damage is that theres a locking mechanise (shown on Lock’nload)love that show i got all the seasons but anyway onces its damaged its becomes a “rock” that cannot be damaged no more but its still useless.

I just thought of a game that can change gaming as we all know it. My idea is like Dust 514, only in the way that PC gamers and ps3 gamers play together. My idea is the PC gamers are in charge of around 10 to 20 guys and ships that the ps3 players use. Engineer are the drivers and repair and the PC gamer in charge of the ship must repair what they don’t with online money. The PC gamers give his crew missions to take over planets and for doing that the PC gamer gets resources like oils and metals, gases for new technology for weapons for his crew. The class the ps3 gamer chooses is the character the must use, and go up in rank in that area for data reasons. Classes assault engineer medic assault would be using assault rifles support weapons and snipers. Engineers would use smgs and rpgs medics use same as assault for weapons but can’t uses air strike future c4. Class healing KDR and repair will all show for the PC gamer and the better the KDR Healing repairs and missions that player does shows for a rank. This all may seem dumb but had to hear from people what people thought of a game like this.
Very interesting concept, I like the idea of cross-platform online play. Different platforms having completely different roles might screw things up a bit though.. I think you could have explained it a bit better.
Maybe when the PS4 comes out we’ll see more connectivity with the PC in games like BF, of course only if Dust 514 works out as planned

..Im British by the way,but despite you not liking it,it is a fact that the US is the only super power at the moment, and in a no holds barred war very few countries could stand against them. Anti american arguements always bring up tired old ‘examples’ of the US getting beaten..Nam, guerilla actions in Iraq/Afghan..they havent been beaten in either of the later countries and US forces left Nam in 1972..thr country fell to communist forces in 1975 after a brave but futile stand by thr ARVN.

Well you know what? I’m tired of USA always being the hero of the day in every game! Why is the US Military involved in every single FPS?! WHY?!

because Great britian couldnt win vs russia or china, PLA is the largest armed force in the world, there only downfall is there out dated tech. the american airforce and navy are doubled or even triple the size of china (not ground forces). the only thing that could beat us is if Turkey, russia, and china all went blitzkrieg on us. A Terrorist Group would be fun to play against and with if you played as the USMC on one team, with advanced, modern weaponary, and the Terrorist Organisation on the other, which had outdated AK’s, Classic RPG’s without lock-on and scope, Molotov’s instead of grenades, Homemade bomb’s instead of C4/ATmines and other common/cheap/improvised weapons. If the maps were designed to give an advantage to the team with worse weapons (such as choke points, mounted weaponary, and ambush locations), and made it so you play the same map twice (once as each team) it wouldn’t be imbalanced and it would really add a ‘flare’ to playing as, and against them.

In regard to the campaign, that’s the first thing I’m going to do. Once I finish a games campaign, then I go to MP.

Play the single player first so you can a feel for the game, then go to the multiplayer,p.s not everyone will be pro and there going to more cod noobs coming than ever, so you’re probably get lucky kills because the noobs are going to clueless how tactical battlefield is and run straight towards your base thinking they can camp until you blow a hole threw the walls and eventually through their skull.
Yes that’s commonly what I said to people before I witnessed the birth of a multiplayer game. That first match I will be in, at the stroke of midnight when everyone is a complete noob, will be magnificent and unforgettable. I can play the singleplayer anytime. That moment is once per multiplayer video game. I guess it’ll also happen 48 hours before the beta goes live, when all of us moh buyers and origin preorderers are on before anyone. It will be stupendous!

I look forward to reading to reading this book..the storyline sounds great and a book written by a UK special forces vet ,who is actually a reasonable writer and knows what hes talking about, can only enhance our bf3 experience
Call of Duty is getting a book aswell. It features approximately 12 pages full of swear words, exclamation points and Justin Beiber lyrics… It’s apparently some kind of strategy guide for the average CoD player.
