BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
EA and DICE are currently running alpha/beta testing on the new Battlelog service, where a number of third party testers have been given access to the alpha version of Battlefiled 3 in order to test Battlelog. One of the testers sent us these screenshots of Battlefield 3, which is in alpha mode. The map is the same as we’ve seen at E3: Operation Metro. While the screenshots don’t reveal anything we haven’t seen yet, we do, for the first time, get a good glimpse of the Battlefield 3 HUD. There’s also an extra screenshot of Battlelog, showing a server browser.
UPDATE: Just to clarify: BF3blog received these screenshots last night in an email. We watermarked them as we believed we were the only ones who had the screenshots, however, there appears to be plenty of sites out there who have gotten the screenshots as well.
We didn’t post the images right away, as we tried to get in touch with DICE for a comment. DICE didn’t reply, and after seeing other sites going live with the screenshots, BF3blog went and published them as well.

dw about it, all the MOH will give (most likely) is early access to the beta, eventually, everyone will get the beta, like with Uncharted 3

I think the textures look quite bad. Look at the second screenshot, on the yellow building on the other side of the lake: It looks like a flat painting, not a building.
But luckily, it’s alpha stage! So we can still hope. Other than that, it’s great to know that BF3Blog already has a willing leak! Way to go!

Me too. It can bee seen just with a short glimpse that the game is on low settings… But the shitstorm about the graphics being bad is sure brewing already.
Apparently they were having driver issues when these screen shots were taken which may explain why some of the visuals are below par especially draw distance.

Can an unrecommended driver have so much effect on a game’s visuals?
I thought keeping up with the latest drivers was for better performance, never for better graphics?
Its still alpha even so called fully finished games sometimes bug out/suffer under certain types of graphics drivers.

I wonder if the APC`s are amphibious. In the second pic you can see that the APC is on water by looking at the mini map. Could just be a bug. The tester also said the APC could jump, lol.

Relax man. The beta will most likely be expanded later on to include more players, even those who didn’t buy MOH.
looks guys , there is 2 Beta’s ok .. first closed beta its comes A MONTH before the game realisse and it is only for MOH limited edition players , THEN it comes the open beta wich is for every one BUT IT COMES ONLY A WEEK BEFORE the game realisse

its actually two months of playing vs one month of playing. Your over exasperating it. The open beta starts in September. They never said when exactly, but it’s not going to be just a week.

As you can see, Battlefield 3 is atleast a semi-ugly game in the screenshots. As nicely elaborated by other posters, it is due to multiple other things like display drivers, but has nothing to do with the game itself.
Also, the player first said “hi”, and later “asdasdasdasdasd”. In all likelyhood, he’s just trying out the game for the first time. He hasn’t even fired a single shot from his gun.

is it right that there gets 510 FPS er is it a bug? because if so the consol should just run at the settings in the alpha and have 64 players than 24 players and only 30 FPS.
No. I’d much rather have great visuals and 30fps than have more players and shitty graphics. Plus they said the “sweet spot” was from 32-40, so 64 is too much, but 24 is closer 32 than 40 to 64. Plus, I love 24 players, *personal preference*, I have never had a problem with 24 players. Just enough action.
Only COD3 has 510 FPS and thats only because there is so little new things going on in the game

You never know, it could be 510 FPS, but the human eye and brain can only register 60fps. no matter if its 510 or 1,000,000 fps, the human brain cant register that high.

As you may or may not have noticed, on all prior news credits have been given where due. Even if admins from other websites posted that they were a part of it (but were, by error, not on the list), BF3Blog added them instantly and with no complaints.
There is no reason; I repeat: Absolutely no reason to think, now that you’ve gotten an official word from BF3Blog, that they have stolen the news from your website. Judging by the fact that they are testing out multiple things on Operation Metro, and I see not a single soul other then the current player, and maybe another from the chat screen, im guessing that a lobby will be able to keep playing even with little to no players? If im in anyway correct, then maybe private games will be tweaked so that you do NOT need 8 people minimum to start a game. Just a thought.

I hated not being able to start up a private match on BFBC2 without having 8 people to start it. That would be a very nice thing to have so you can spend some quality time studying the maps for strategic pathways or thigns of that nature.

you can join a server by yourself because you have a PC. In order for console people to join a private game they have to have 8 people or more, I really don’t understand this logic, but I shall not argue with DICE, they obviously know what they are doing.
Yes, finally i have a ps3 and have 49 friends that play mostly the same games i play except they’re not online all the time or don’t want to be bothered, I also thinks its great if you have dedicated servers filling in all preferences so you can play the way you like on your favorite maps without waiting a half hour for a match thats not locked or full,think of farcry or crysis or another game that ruins the expeirce by not even being able to get into a multiplay match!!!thats what happen with me in gta 4 half the time
i know what you mean. far cry 2 for the PS3 sucked because i got kicked so much, then i play it at my buddies house and it works. then again he has a xbox 360 which is far better than the PS3. i am saving up for one right now.

To all those complaining how awful it looks: it’s alpha, it’s running on everything on low, and there are driver issues. Remember the footage we saw at E3 of PC players playing Operation Metro? That looked pretty damn good.

if u didnt buy it, u can play 1 month before (open beta)
You can’t — it’s alpha. The beta will be in september, and in the first round, MOH owners will get access to it. The beta will probably expand later on to include more people.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Dice later waters down that play time advantage.
