EA just released its financial report for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2011, and buried in all the numbers and financial details were the news that Battlefield 3 has been pre-ordered 7 times more than the previous Battlefield game, Bad Company 2. As you recall, Bad Company 2 eventually went on to sell 7 million copies.
EA didn’t disclose how many copies of Battlefield 3 have been pre-ordered so far. The record as the most pre-ordered game is currently held by Halo Reach, which was pre-ordered 2 million times before its release last year.
EA is currently running a pre-order campaign for Battlefield 3 Limited Edition, which includes the DLC “Back to Karkand”, free of charge.

BF3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Not surprised here, BF3 is hyped a million times more than BC2, but I still doubt it’s gonna break any pre-order records.
EA wont get my money before they release it at steam
I know many a PC player who will be getting it on steam, and on at least 1 game console. So that is going to be huge. I think after E3, this is going to be “The Big Game” of 2011 and possibly of all time. Don’t under-estimate the under-dog.. Remember, No one knew Yoda was a Bad-Ass the first time they saw him and his little cane in Empire Strikes Back! I know I thought he was just some old hobbit who lived a long time.. Haha!
As soon as BF3 is on Steam, Im buying it, whether pre-order or not.
Agree with two gentlemen above me:)
when bf3 pre-order will be on steam i will buy it !!!
I’m waiting for a boxed edition to be available at some store in Budapest.
I’m also waiting for the Steam version. Only a few months ago I took a dive into the Paypal system and was wowed by the simplicity. Since then Steam seems a holy grail lol.
And maybe there will an action in a few months that when you pre order, you get a BF3 beta key. Just like we now get stuff for BF play4free when pre ordering BF3.
Yes i want it on steam too, if not i will have a hard time trying no to scratch the DVD and applying patches.
I can’t believe how many are waiting for it to hit Steam
Does anyone use EA Store at all?
I will get it on steam. EA better put it on steam, the SWTOR fiasco has me pissed. I refuse to use EA store, Selling games exclusive downloadable through your own store makes me sick.
