BF3 physical warfare pack
EA has announced a new pre-order promotion for the United Kingdom, through game retailers GAME and Gamestation UK. The Battlefield 3 Limited Edition Physical Warfare pack will include four new weapons and accessories:

  • Type 88 LMG
  • DAO-12 shotgun
  • Flechette ammo for DAO-12 shotgun
  • Flash suppressor for SKS sniper rifle

The DAO-12 shotgun was featured in Battlefiled 2, while the Type 88 LMG appeared in Bad Company 2. The new ammo and suppressor accessories indicate that gun in Battlefield 3 can be customized to a great degree than in previous games.

In addition to the weapons and accessories above, the pack includes the rest of the Back To Karkand content. This new offer is so far exclusive to UK, but it most certainly will be coming to the US in form of a promotion with GameStop and/or other retailers.

Yep, you’ll get it no matter where you pre-order. Personally, I’m waiting for BF3 to hit Steam :)

True. But medics in BC2 had LMGs, and since there’s only 4 classes in BF3, we can assume that Medics will once again have LMGs. Regardless of how unrealistic it is :)

I’ve complained to GAME on the basis that they’ve announced this as ‘no extra charge’ and then slapped an extra £5 onto the PC price (compared to the existing ‘Limited Edt’ copy).
Its rather deceiptful to claim its a free bonus, then ramp up the price 16% if you want it. So hopefully they’ll just remove the standard ‘LE’ version, and upgrade pre-orders to this and as per their order agreement charge no more if the price increases (and reduce if it gets cheaper).

Hardly worth getting excited about this pack though, its just annoying them announcing ‘no extra cost’ and the same day adding that version for £5 more.

Bastards. The physical warfare pack looks like it’s only gonna offer unlocks that are already in the game, only you’ll have them on day one, so it’s no big deal to get the pre-order bonus.

Yea your right i think medics will have LMGs. If they only had four classes it should done like this.
        1) Medic with a simple assult rifle like m-16 and grenade launchers
        2) support gunnners with ammo and LMGs
3)engineer with a shotgun and ability to fix tanks ect with at4
4)Sniper with abilty to spot the enemy for others that get in close to kill.

The assualt class is pointless i think it doesnt do anything the only thing its used for is the ammo which the support gunner should have. and the grenade launcher which could be given to the medics because medics dont have the ammo so they cant spam the grenade launchers.

what do you guys think ??

The Physical Warfare Pack is fully exclusive. There’s no other way to get those 4 items.

The DAO 12 doesn’t sound like an exclusive, since they say it’ll be available on “day 1″. This usually means it’s an unlock and those who pre-order will get it on day 1 instead of having to play to unlock it.

    Or maybe I’m wrong?

      yep!
like it was in MoH. pre-order got MP7 and some shotgun without any level needed. wasnt any overkill, couse first levels were quite fast.

most i like in this picture is that i can customize my weapons. just like MoH, what was real good MP, but short as hell. levelcap came too fast for all classes.

According to VoodooExtreme, the content is exclusive and won’t be available in the game any other way.
Which sucks. Way to nerf game balance.

    Have you read it….

i was looking at it and what i reckon on how the perk (what ever it is called) system is going to is:

    1. weapon mods; it says “weapon mods” which i think u get t modify your weapon e.g change the round of which u gun use,

    2. You could probaly change the grip to a bipod or change your barrel like a suppressor or flash hider even a grenade launcher?

    3. Should probaly change your sight to a red dot or a holo.

I think it is going to be like MOH how u customize your gun. Hopefully there is a perk system as it gives you more options. So what do you think ?

This is outright shameful DICE. *sigh* I feel like all this preorder bs has now become standard with any game with mplayer unlocks. This is a step back imo.

I’d like to vent my frustrations with the direction EA and DICE have decided to move with battlefield 3 in terms of Downloadable Content. Splitting the game up into “exclusive” pieces that you can only receive by pre-ordering (or purchasing separately) is a surefire way to make the large majority of your game’s community very frustrated. It feels as though EA is more interested in gaining a few extra dollars from each player than they are in providing a high quality gaming experience. Rather than release the game as a finished product, you’re releasing it in incomplete pieces, which offsets the balance and leaves missing holes that often (see: Bad Company 2) cause performance issues.

Please note that I, and many others, strongly oppose this business tactic. I personally will not be pre-ordering Battlefield 3 solely on this basis.

I am a huge fan of the battlefield franchise, especially BF2. It was a truly unique & enjoyable multiplayer experience. BF3 was essentially a no-brainer purchase for me since the gameplay footage looks fantastic & it is a continuation of the BF series holding more true to what made BF2 so good.

That being said. The Physical Warfare Pack is probably the most idiotic idea I’ve seen from EA in a while… I will not be pre-ordering let alone purchasing a game which has pre-order & region exclusive DLC which PROVIDES AN IN GAME ADVANTAGE. It basically shows that EA has zero respect for their hardcore fans & would rather attempt to make money off of DLC. I will be voting against DLC by not using my wallet. I encourage anyone else who thinks that the Physical Warfare Pack is bogus to do the same.

I wouldn’t have an issue with DLC that provides cosmetic changes, but no matter how you swing it, only giving some players certain weapons, ammo & FLASH SUPRESSOR (confirmed to be unique in the game) to pre-orders is a good way to negatively affect the fairness of the multiplayer experience.

So, this exclusive will be available in the U.S. through Gamestop? I noticed that their Indo-European site already has this as an available version of the pre-order, and at no additional cost, but there has been no official NA details releases. My question is, how do we know that GamestopNA will have this option available? I’m not doubting anyone, I just want to get the information for myself. Also, does anyone know when they will make this available in the U.S.? Because, I have heard nothing lol.

so is this only available through pre-order at select retailers, or will we all be able to get it eventually? This would be an unfair advantage if it was exclusive.
