DICE had always stated that the PC was the main Battlefield 3 platform, from which the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions would be developed. Now DICE executive producer Patrick Bach has revealed in an interview with VideoGamer that the PC version will end up looking better than on the console. Bach said:

“What we’re showing on PC might look better than on console, but what we’ll show on console doesn’t look worse than any other game out there. It’s probably even better than every other game out there on console.”

Bach went on, saying the console versions can’t have the same quality as the PC version. Battlefield 3 on consoles will, according to Bach, lack certain anti-aliasing features, motion blur, high frame rate, and high screen resolution.

In a separate interview, Battlefield Brand Manager Kevin O’Leary stressed that they’re aiming at 30 frames per second on consoles, a frame rate both Bad Company 1 and 2 had. Some of DICE’s main competitors, most notably Call of Duty, have run at 60 frames per second to deliver a very smooth gameplay experience and better responsiveness.

If it was the other way around, like Crysis 2, I’d be pissed. There’s nothing worse than when consoles, with their inferior hardware, dictate the looks of the PC part.

If COD can run at 60 Frames persecond on console, i see no reason that DICE and EA cant do the same on a console. If anything a company should never say that “The PC is the main platform” especially considering that most of the money they have made in the past has come from console. Whether it was accidental or on purpose, DICE have just screwed over their biggest game buyers

little call of duty fans like yourself dont know anything about whats inside that little xbox or ps3 do you?. cod can run at 60fps because its graphics are crap in comparison, it dosnt stress the consoles limits, so the console can generate the 60fps, however, on battlefield 3, the graphics alone are enuf to stress the consoles, hence they can only run it at 30fps in 720P. and about ur comment, the Battlefield series is mainly for PC, the consoles only got 2 versions of the series, (now 3 with this release), BFBC, and BFBC2, while the PC has got Battlefield 1942 (2 addons), battlefield 2 (2 addons) battlefield 2142, Battlefield BC2 (Vietnam addon) Battlefield P4F, Battlefield Heroes, and Battlefield 3, so dont say console is their strongest selling point, because its not.
